1. NVIDIA’s AI Dominance Under Investigation By DOJ 🧑‍⚖️

NVIDIA is in hot water as the U.S. Department of Justice investigates claims that the chip giant is abusing its market dominance in AI chips. Reports reveal that the DOJ has reached out to competitors like AMD to gather intel on whether NVIDIA has been jacking up prices for customers who dare to buy rival chips.

Additionally, they’re looking into allegations that NVIDIA has pressured clients into purchasing extra products, like cables for server connections. The company insists they’re just playing fair, stating they “win on merit” and are ready to provide any info regulators need.

3. Apple's iPhone Sales Surprise and AI Ambitions Heat Up 🔥

Apple has reported stronger-than-expected iPhone sales, with a modest 0.9% decline in Q3, significantly better than the anticipated 22% drop. Chief Financial Officer Luca Maestri expressed optimism about the upcoming iPhone 15 family, which will feature a significant software upgrade focused on artificial intelligence.

However, the company continues to face challenges in China, where sales fell 65%, though this marks an improvement from an 81% decline in the previous quarter.

4. OpenAI Partners with US AI Safety Institute 🛡

Sam Altman announced that OpenAI is partnering with the US AI Safety Institute for early access to their upcoming foundation model, although a release date has not been specified. He emphasized the commitment to dedicate 20% of computing resources to safety, a promise initially made to the defunct Superalignment team.

🦾How You Can Leverage:

Picture this: You’re prepping for a crucial board meeting.

Eek?

No sweat.

Your AI assistant has already prepped the slides, crunched data on all your competitors, drafted emails to your shareholders, and even simulated the board meeting scenarios.

You, the CEO, just kinda do what your smart AI tells you to do.

We may not be there juuuuuuuust yet, but the AI tech is already there.

This is the power of AI, and it’s time to get on board.

In our latest episode, we teamed up with Section CEO Greg Shove to tackle a burning question: Can AI (kinda) do your CEO’s job?

Answer: Yeah. (Kinda.)

Lezbehonest — there’s a HUGE divide right now when it comes to what C suite leaders are saying about AI and are doing about AI.

The majority of C-suites are saying AI is their top priority. Yet, so few companies are ACTUALLY implementing AI.

If you’re the leader of a company, how do you change that?

We tackled that big ol elephant in the room head on with Greg.

Ready?

Let’s dive into the insights like synchronized divers from the platform.

3, 2, 1 juuuuuuump

1 – AI + efficiency = job cuts ✂️

That’s how Greg started off the show, and we totally agree.

Don’t lie, you greedy CEO you.

TBH, we’ve talked with some of the smartest people in the world in AI. And in the end, the end goal of AI is all about efficiency.

What’s that got to do with it?

Well, lettuce tell you why, young Grasshopper.

So many humans on your team don’t wanna get on the AI train cuz they think that it’s gonna mean the end of their job.

And the reality is — it might be.

And that’s not necessarily a bad thing. The nature of work is changing, a weird reality you gotta face head on.

Stick with us here. It’s not all doom and Gloom.

Before you can actually and properly implement AI in your company, you’ve gotta have “The Talk.” with your other leaders and employees.

Try this:

Ready for the bajillion dollar question that will instantly lead to a higher rate of AI implementation at your company?

“What happens WHEN AI works?”

(The whole AI ethics discussion.)

Do you go to a 4-day work week?

Do you take on completely new lines of business?

And what do all of your smart, loyal employees do after you reach a Nirvana state of LLM-fueled automation?

Because if so many companies find 60-70% increased productivity in the coming years, that means a lotta human hours now relegated to watching smart LLMs and AI agents whizz through manual domain work in seconds that used to take the smartest humans days.

Answer the ‘What happens when’ question.

This episode is a must-listen:

2 – AI: Your 24-7 Board Member 👤

This is an experiment that we’re HERE FOR!

In today’s show, Greg walked us through how he’s even having his board members prep for meetings with LLMs.

Greg's board feeds their board deck to AI - specifically GPT and Claude. But they're not just asking for a simple review.

They're getting the AI to adopt different board member personas.

Think aggressive growth-focused investor, conservative CFO type, and tech-savvy product guru.

The AI analyzes the deck from these various perspectives, providing insights and raising questions a diverse board would typically bring up.

Now, here's the kicker: After the real board meeting, Greg's team compares the AI's feedback to what the human board actually said.

The results?

Claude is consistently scoring 90-93% accuracy, with GPT close behind at 89-90%.

Sheeesh.

Try this:

Even if you’re not a CEO, you can try this lil trick.

Before your next big meeting or decision:

1. Upload your presentation or proposal to an AI like Claude or GPT-4.

2. Ask the AI to analyze it from multiple perspectives. For example: "Review this as a risk-averse investor," "Analyze this from the viewpoint of an expansion-focused board member," and "Critique this as a technology expert."

3. Use the AI's feedback to refine your proposal and prepare for potential questions or objections.

4. After the real meeting, compare the AI's insights with the actual feedback you received. Use this to continually improve your AI prompts and decision-making process.

3 – Breaking the AI Adoption Sound Barrier 💥

Greg's insights on AI adoption are eye-opening.

Despite the hype, most companies are struggling to implement AI effectively.

Section's recent survey of 1,000 knowledge workers revealed a stark reality: only 8% were what they considered "AI-ready."

Yikes.

Try this:

To boost AI adoption in your company:

1. Identify AI champions: Look for employees who are naturally curious about technology and open to new ways of working.

2. Invest in tools and training: Provide paid accounts for AI tools and comprehensive training on effective prompting and AI use cases.

3. Start with high-impact, low-risk tasks: Encourage your team to use AI for tasks like summarizing long documents, drafting emails, or analyzing data trends.

4. Create a feedback loop: Set up regular sessions where employees can share their AI wins and challenges. This not only helps refine your AI strategy but also creates positive peer pressure for adoption.

5. Lead by example: As a CEO, use AI in your own work and openly discuss how it's impacting your decision-making and productivity.

So can AI (almost) do your CEO’s job?

Today, it’s getting close.

Better prepare for tomorrow.
