🤷‍♂️ What’s Going On and Why It Matters:

OK, so maybe you aren’t a product manager.

But guess what?

Product managers have a huge influence on our lives.

Case in point: the app or website you’re reading this on right now? A group of product managers probably spent thousands of hours grappling over the contrast, scroll speed, responsiveness, and dozens of other things we tend to overlook.

In short, humans use software products. Basically all day. And AI is changing not only how products are made, but also how we use them.

It’s a lot to unravel.

Luckily, Rolly Seth helped us …. unravel it all. Rolly is a Senior AI Product Manager at Microsoft, and has helped shape the products that we all use every day.

If you missed our livestream (sorry, LinkedIn live was a bit wonky today!) then here’s the high-level overview: AI is changing every aspect of product management: from concept and development to the product lifecycle and feedback process.

From setting future visions and strategies to uncovering hidden user needs, product managers wear multiple hats to bring us the best experiences.

Wanna know how to best leverage AI in product management, while also keeping close tabs on the humans using it all?

Us too. Let’s get after it! 👇

🦾How You Can Leverage:

Did your brain grow after that show?

Or just us?

If you feel like you just got a degree in product management, you’re not alone. That’s the beauty of bringing experts in their field on the Everyday AI show — we get to learn the best AI takeaways from decades of experience!

Want cliff notes from our class?

We got you — here’s the 1-2-3 to better product management with AI:

1 – Embrace the AI first approach 🤖

It’s not every day you get to talk to a product manager with 10+ years of experience at Microsoft. So, don’t take this first takeaway lightly.

Rolly laid out the mindset shift over the past decade in creating products. Cloud-first turned into mobile-first, and now it’s all about AI-first.

Try this:
If you’re a product manager, think about how you can incorporate AI into your product when it makes sense. Rolly cautioned against going overboard with AI everywhere and instead suggested an AI-first approach. Product managers still have to keep their thumb on the user experience and customer feedback.

2 – Think AI Magic with PPP 🪄

Awesome … we’re not the only ones with a ‘PPP’ approach! Rolly wasn’t talking about our Prime, Prompt, Polish course. (Although we think that has magical results, as well. Reply to this email with ‘PPP’ and we’ll send you the secret link).

A legit golden tip for product managers from Rolly: create magic with PPP. She laid out her go-to strategy for how product managers can be storytellers and create a more meaningful relationship between their product and the end-user.

Try this:
Go give Rolly’s article a thorough read, as she details the Plot, Perception, Presentation approach. It’s a must-read for any product manager and an eye-opening experience for the rest of us who USE products.

It’s no wonder we benefit from intuitively smooth products when the people creating them put this kind of emphasis on their design and implementation!

3 – Always be curious 🧐

Saving the best for last? Absolutely. And don’t worry, avid EverydAIers, this piece of advice is for everyone. Not just product managers. Rolly saved some of her best advice for last — always be curious. To take the quote RIGHT out of Rolly’s mouth: ‘When was the last time you did something for the first time?’

Try this:
We didn’t forget about all the insights, tips, and tools that Rolly dropped. We’re saving them for the end, so you can stay curious today.

Like Rolly suggested, to stay ahead in the fast-paced world of AI everywhere, you have to explore and get your hands dirty.

Some of her suggestions: Hugging Face to play with open-source models, ChatGPT for just about anything, AI-powered Figma designs for prototyping, Midjourney for AI image generation, and Runway for AI video production. Also, Rolly shares product updates on her YouTube channel, which is worth exploring!
