1. AI Will Soon Think On Its Own? -- The CEO of Googleās DeepMind says weāre ājust a few yearsā from AI that has human-level intelligence. Right now AI is based on a model that it is trained to understand. Soon, it may have a mind of its own.
2. 54% of Voters Want AI Regulation NOW -- A majority of voters think Congress should take āswift action to regulate AIā in order to promote privacy and safety, according to a new poll. The question is, how?
3. Slack GPT is Here -- Slack has now added generative AI to itās productivity app in order to āBringing the power of generative AI in Slack to help you work smarter, learn faster, and communicate better.ā Hereās their press release.
4. Elon Musk's Neuralink is in Trouble -- Neuralink is developing a computer chip to improve human intelligence and help those with paralysis and blindness.Testing is being done on animals. The IACUC committee is mostly comprised of Neuralink employees, creating a conflict of interest.
5. Let the AI Regulation Begin -- Regulators are starting to investigate how to deal with the rapid rise of consumer AI like ChatGPT. Amongst others looking to deal with AI, the UK government called for an investigation into consumer AI. The US also has some plans here.
