AI in the Media ā€” Americans are skeptical about AI in newsroomsā€”hereā€™s what the research reveals.

1. Senators Question Big Techā€™s AI Deals šŸ¤”

Two Democratic senators, Elizabeth Warren and Ron Wyden, are raising alarms over Microsoft and Googleā€™s cloud partnerships with AI firms OpenAI and Anthropic, respectively.

According to Reuters, the lawmakers are concerned these deals might stifle competition and inflate costs for businesses and consumers relying on AI tools. Their letters demand details about payment structures, exclusivity agreements, and acquisition plans that could reshape the tech landscape.

2. Muskā€™s AI Team Under Fire for Alleged Government Surveillance šŸ•µļøā€ā™‚ļø

Elon Muskā€™s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) is making wavesā€”and raising eyebrowsā€”over its alleged use of artificial intelligence to monitor federal employees' communications for anti-Trump sentiment, according to Reuters.

Sources claim the team has deployed Musk's Grok AI chatbot and privacy-focused Signal app, sparking concerns over transparency, data security, and potential suppression of dissent. Critics argue DOGE operates with secrecy, bypassing federal record-keeping rules and vetting processes, while Musk pushes to overhaul government efficiency by cutting $1 trillion in spending.

3. Amazonā€™s Nova Reel Gets a Major Upgrade šŸŽ„

Amazon has rolled out Nova Reel 1.1, its upgraded AI video model capable of generating two-minute AI videos with seamless multi-shot style, according to TechCrunch. The new ā€œMultishot Manualā€ mode lets users combine a prompt with an image for precise control over up to 20 distinct shots.

While this innovation pushes generative video tech forward, Amazon remains tight-lipped about the ethical sourcing of training dataā€”a key concern as competitors like OpenAI and Google keep the pressure high in a crowded market.

4. White House Overhauls AI Rules šŸ›ļø

The White House announced a major shift in AI policy, ordering federal agencies to appoint chief AI officers and develop strategies to expand the government's use of artificial intelligence.

According to Reuters, this move rescinds Biden-era safeguards, emphasizing a "pro-innovation approach" and removing restrictions on AI acquisitions. Agencies now have six months to create plans for integrating AI responsibly while eliminating barriers, focusing on American-made solution

5. Meta's Llama 4 Sparks Benchmark Drama šŸæ

Meta is under scrutiny for allegedly submitting a custom, non-public variant of its Llama 4 model to LMArena, a popular chatbot competition site, seemingly optimized to win human votes, according to reports.

The experimental version, peppered with emojis and verbose responses, outperformed rivals in rankings but differed significantly from the publicly released model, raising transparency concerns. LMArena has since updated its policies to prevent such confusion, while Meta denies allegations of training on test sets and blames inconsistent performance on tuning issues post-launch.

If we see one more ā€˜look how I made this cartoon meme in GPT4o Imageā€™ post go viral on LinkedIn, we might scream yā€™all.

Itā€™s like if the world just discovered airplanes and everyoneā€™s talking about the mediocre food and no oneā€™s talking about the fact that you can now travel the world in hours.

Thatā€™s where weā€™re at now.

OpenAI unleashed one of the most impressive AI modes/features ever, yet no oneā€™s using it for actual business use-cases.

If youā€™ve been sleeping under a rock, OpenAI released a new creative behemoth in its GPT4o Image Gen.

So today, we broke it down on Everyday AI, with the worldā€™s simplest one-shot prompts to show you that even beginners can get fantastic results.

Hereā€™s 5 actual use-cases on how to get it to do something for your business.

Aside from memes. šŸ‘‡

1. Photo Shoots That Never Happened šŸ“ø

Those generic stock photos on your website?

They're garbage. Everyone uses them. They scream "we're boring!"

We tested this by uploading our Everyday AI logo and a headshot, then typing: "put this logo on a black cap, then put that cap on this person's head. Have that person walking down the street in Chicago's West Loop neighborhood."

BOOM. Four completely different custom photos appeared through Sora (OpenAI's other platform). Didn't love something in the image? Just say "remove the car" or "add more bokeh" - natural language editing at its finest.

Try This: Upload your headshot and logo to ChatGPT. Type "/create" then write: "Create an image of me presenting at a conference with our logo prominently displayed on screen behind me. Make the audience look engaged and impressed." Instant social proof for your website without hiring a photographer.

2. Quick Redesigns Without a Designer šŸ§‘ā€šŸŽØ

Got marketing materials that need refreshing?

Product pages looking stale? Don't wait for designer availability or blow your budget.

We uploaded our podcast cover art and literally typed: "I don't like this design anymore. Can you redesign this podcast cover?" That's IT. We got four completely different professional designs instantly.

One looked a bit weird (it made us look strange), but the upper right design was clean enough to use immediately. Not quite perfect? A 30-second edit in Canva's magic grab tool fixes any small issues.

Is it as a good as a human designer? Usually not. But itā€™s a great first draft or itā€™ll work if youā€™re not going for high society design.

Try This:

Find your least favorite piece of marketing collateral. Upload it to ChatGPT with: "Redesign this with a more modern aesthetic while keeping our core branding elements. Make it more appealing to millennials while maintaining our professional image." Save the result and A/B test it against your current version.

3. Visualizing Boring Business Processes šŸ˜“

Nobody reads text-heavy procedures.

Training manuals gather dust. Onboarding documents get skimmed at best.

We typed a ridiculously simple prompt: "Create a visual guide on how to prompt a large language model. Make sure it shows step by step instructions in a visual and instructive way."

The result? A beautiful four-step guide with icons that the AI ORGANIZED ITSELF. It created: 1) Set context, 2) Define the task, 3) Be specific, and 4) Format output - all with professional design elements we never specified.

Try This:

Take your most complicated internal process document. Paste it into ChatGPT and say: "Create a visual flowchart that explains this process in 5 clear steps. Use icons that represent each stage and make the progression intuitive." Share it with your team and watch comprehension skyrocket.

4. Mimicking Winning Visual Styles šŸŖž

See marketing that's crushing it in your industry?

Wish you could recreate that vibe without being accused of copying?

We found old Nike ads from the 90s that we loved, uploaded them alongside our logo and a headshot, then asked: "Use the Everyday AI logo attached and create a similar logo in this retro 1990s Nike style. Make it simple and bold."

The system perfectly recreated our logo with 90s aesthetics. We then asked it to show "that guy playing basketball" in the same style - instantly extending the campaign with consistent visuals.

Try This:

Find 3 competitor social posts getting massive engagement. Upload them to Sora with: "Create 4 variations of our brand content in this general aesthetic, but with our unique messaging about [your value prop]. Keep our logo and colors, but adopt this visual language." Boom - instant campaign starter.

5. Turning Blog Posts Into Infographics šŸ“©

Your written content is valuable but nobody's reading those 2000-word deep dives.

We took our daily AI news roundup (7 major stories) and prompted: "This is the recap of a blog post on the latest AI news. Create a detailed visual that quickly tells readers this info. Make it creative yet simple enough that people can learn the main concepts easily."

The result was a comprehensive infographic with "7 Major AI News Stories This Week" as the headline and individual sections for each story - complete with headings, subheadings, and custom icons.

It was good. Likeā€¦ really good.

Only one minor issue: some visuals didn't match their sections, but a quick reprompt would fix that.

Try This:

Take your most popular blog post. Identify the 3-4 main points. Use: "Create an infographic summarizing these key points from our article: [paste points]. Make it visually distinctive with our brand colors [list colors] and include a QR code placeholder in the bottom right that would link to the full article." Use this as your new social promotion template.
