Amazon is launching a new AI tool named Amelia, aimed at assisting third-party sellers with account issues more efficiently. Currently in beta for select U.S. sellers, Amelia serves as an “all-in-one generative-AI based selling expert,” designed to expedite problem resolution without the delays of traditional support.

With over 400,000 sellers already utilizing AI tools, this initiative underscores Amazon’s strategy to lead in the evolving e-commerce landscape and leverage the potential of artificial intelligence.

2. LinkedIn Automatically Opts Users Into AI Training 👀

LinkedIn has quietly opted its users into generative AI training without prior notice, raising privacy concerns. The social network recently updated its privacy policy to state that personal data may be utilized to “improve, develop, and provide products and Services” including AI models, while also offering writing assistant features.

However, users can opt out by navigating to the Data privacy tab in their account settings and toggling off “Data for Generative AI Improvement.”

3. Amazon Launches AI Video Generator for Advertisers 🎥

Amazon has introduced its new Video Generator at the Accelerate conference, transforming static product images into engaging video showcases. Currently in beta for select U.S. advertisers, this innovative tool creates “custom” AI-generated clips that highlight product features at no additional cost.

As competitors like Google and Adobe also develop generative video technology, Amazon aims to provide solutions while assuring customers protection against copyright issues.

4. Salesforce Launches Free AI Training Initiative 🧑‍🏫

Salesforce has announced its AI for All initiative, which will provide free AI training courses and waive fees on its Trailhead platform until the end of 2025. 💰 The company is also establishing an AI training hub at its San Francisco headquarters, featuring a dedicated floor for employee upskilling on cutting-edge AI tools.

With a significant investment of $50 million, Salesforce aims to address the ongoing talent shortage in AI skills, as one-third of executives find it challenging to hire qualified candidates.

A recent Google report advocates for a “national research cloud” and revisions to copyright laws, highlighting that easing data mining restrictions could significantly enhance AI development.

3 Secrets ChatGPT Desktop Features Revealed!

Did you know there are ChatGPT capabilities exclusive to the app that you CAN’T get on the web version?

We’re showing you 3 secret features on the ChatGPT desktop app that are available to all users.

🦾How You Can Leverage:

Remember when "AI" felt like alphabet soup for tech giants?

Those days are toast.

(Wait, do soup and toast go together or nah?)

Now, AI is the secret sauce for startups and small businesses, turning underdogs into top dogs.

If you ‘do AI’ right, it becomes your tireless intern, brainstorming buddy, and time-bending wizard all rolled into one.

But how do you tap into this digital dynamite without getting lost in the tech maze?

She’s a Silicon Valley vet, leader of Google for Startups, and Founder of Grow With Google.

( In other words, she really knows what she’s talking about.)

Lisa dropped by Everyday AI today to spill the tea on how AI is flipping the script for startups and giving small businesses some serious muscle.

From whipping up marketing plans to boosting crops with robot eyes, Lisa shared examples of how AI is helping the little guys punch way above their weight class.

Ready to give your business an AI adrenaline shot?

Whether you’re a small biz owner, startup founder, or an enterprise employee trying to operate like one, Lisa dropped the intel.

Let's get it.

1 – Treat AI like your summer intern 🧑‍🎨

Are AI assistants the new summer interns?

Kinda.

Well, that’s at least how Lisa recommends treating Generative AI systems.

She’s quick to point out that prompting is both an iterative process, and a skillset that requires practice and a focus on pointed communication.

Like, you can tell Billy Boy the summer intern to go fetch some coffee, orrrrrrrrr you can tell Billy Boy to go to the Starbucks one block east and grab two double espressos to go.

(See the difference? Now go get me some coffee Billy!)

Like that bright-eyed summer intern brimming with potential, AI systems of today need your guidance to truly shine.

Try This:

Pick a task you've been dragging your feet on, like dreaming up a new product line.

Set the stage for AI by painting a vivid picture of your business. Outline your expectations clearly, as if you're briefing that new intern. Then, play ping-pong with ideas, bouncing back and forth until you hit gold.

Lucky for you?

We’ve literally taught about 6,000 biz leaders — from small business owners and startup founders to Big Tech vets — how to properly prompt in our free PPP course.

Just reply PPP to this email for access. We just added new times today, so apologies if we’re late getting you the info. But it’s on the way!

2 – Let AI tackle your time-sucking tasks 🎯

We all have those soul-crushing, clock-eating tasks that make us want to hide under our desks.

Yuckscusting.

Good news: AI eats those for breakfast, freeing you up for the big-picture stuff that really moves the needle.

Lisa talked about how small businesses and startups are often wearing too many hats to even keep track of.

Better categorize your tasks, and know which ones you can offload to an LLM-powered friend.

Try This

Identify your biggest time-vampire. Is it drowning in email? Decoding spreadsheets? Summarizing endless meetings? Sic AI on it and watch it work its magic.

Lisa even gave us one of her own personal use-cases, which we’re a big fan of. She will load up Google’s Gemini-powered NotebookLM with a bunch of research studies, documents and other insights she needs.

Then, NotebookLM will first reference all of those resources in crafting responses.

3 – Upskilling challenges? Google it. 🧍

The buzzword of 2024 has been upskilling.

(Or reskilling. Or cross-skilling. Or skill-skilling. OK we made that last one up.)

Here’s the reality — the job market, economy and biz as we know it is changing quickly because of AI.

Certain departments will slim down, while new ones will quickly sprout up. So just about everyone under the sun is scrambling to try and learn how to surf the AI wave that’s brand new and baby-faced.

Not like the search engine, but to look into a host of free programs, grants and funds that Google offers to help businesses of all sizes.

Try this:

An essential first stop?

Aside from the 8-hour course, there’s a host of other resources Google offers.

One example? The department Lisa leads, Grow with Google, has helped more than 90 million workers grow their skills and offers a crazy amount of resources for job seekers, small businesses, startups and others.

Als, check out the newly announced $75 million AI opportunity fund, which provides funding for AI training programs for students and educators, small businesses, nonprofits and others.
