1. The World's Not Ready for AI's Next Act! 🤖

Mustafa Suleyman, the CEO of DeepMind, spills the beans on the future of AI in a chat with Wired's "Have a Nice Future" podcast. He's got a new book, "The Coming Wave," and it's all about how we're totally unprepared for AI to take over the world in the next decade. Chatbots overthrowing governments? It's not as crazy as it sounds!

2. Google Now Has An AI Life Coach? 🤷‍♂️

Google's AI unit, DeepMind, is on a roll, reportedly crafting 21 different tools to dish out life advice, planning tips, and even tutoring. But wait, there's a twist! While these tools sound like a dream come true, Google's own AI safety peeps have waved a red flag, hinting that taking life advice from AI might just lead to "diminished health and well-being."

3. SEC's Gensler: AI Might Just Crash the Financial Party 📉

SEC Chair Gary Gensler has some major AI concerns too. Back in his MIT professor days in 2020, Gensler co-wrote a paper warning that too many similar AI programs in our economic structures could lead to a financial meltdown. Think of it as a domino effect triggered by machine predictions, with our outdated financial regulations unable to keep pace.

4. Intel's $5.4B Tower Semiconductor Deal? It's a No-Go! 🚫

Intel's big plans to acquire Tower Semiconductor for a whopping $5.4 billion have come crashing down. Why? Regulatory roadblocks, especially from China, have put the brakes on this tech merger, hinting at the ongoing tech Cold War between China and the U.S.

5. BeFake: Where AI Meets Social Media Fantasy 📸

Former Machine Zone CEO Kristen Garcia Dumont's new venture, Alias Technologies, has dropped a bombshell with their BeFake social media app. Why settle for reality when you can craft your own AI-augmented fantasy? With BeFake, users can transform simple text prompts into dazzling augmented visuals, pushing the boundaries of digital self-expression.

🤷‍♂️ What’s Going On and Why It Matters:

You’re wasting SO. MUCH. TIME. reading and replying to emails like it’s still 1999.

Guess what shorties?

AI can do that for you.

For reals.

Now, I know what you’re thinking. ‘That sounds risky! Sounds like something big companies would never do.’

WRONG!

If you tuned in to today’s show, you know what’s coming.

If not (wait, why didn’t you listen? Today’s show is a banger!) let’s recap the big picture here.

Microsoft and Google control the email market.

And both are actually releasing AI into every aspect of their upcoming products, email clients included. (Check what Microsoft is doing, and how Google is using AI in email.)

So, whether you’re ready for it or not, AI is coming for your email.

Why wait? Get on the AI/email train now before it leaves the station.

Let’s dive in… choooo chooooo 🚂

🦾How You Can Leverage:

Yup. We’re gonna legit save you HOURS a week by having AI read, analyze, and respond to your emails.

We asked in today’s livestream how many hours y’all spend reading/replying to emails.

And…. It’s a lot!

So, let’s start saving like 50+ hours a month and upgrade your email game from the 90s.

When looking at how to actually get the most outta AI for everyday people, it’s important to reverse-engineer your manual work.

In other words, where are we spending the most time?

(Hint: it’s email)

Alright, before we supercharge your email game and save your life, let’s get the legal mumbo jumbo outta the way.

*Always consult with your IT person/boss/CEO/whoever about how you use AI at your company. If you’re using 3rd party tools, be aware of how they may use your data and never* upload sensitive or proprietary biz info into an AI system unless you know exactly what you’re doing and said IT person/boss/CEO/whoever gave you the green light*

Alright. Now, lez break it down.

1 – Know the end game 🏁

Not talking Avengers here, but where the big companies are taking email. Microsoft and Google are slowly rolling out fully AI-powered emails.

Ask Microsoft Copilot to respond to that email, and also have it update that Excel file and PowerPoint deck with details from that 105 message deep thread. If you’re a Google user, have Google Duet do the same.

Try this:
Retraining your brain from decades of monotonously manual emailing is hard. See where email is going? All-in on AI.

Change your mindset now by embracing AI-powered email life before it’s rolled out to the masses in the coming months. Keep reading for #2 and #3 for how that works.

2 – Upgrade your Outlook 📧

Here’s the bad news? Outlook isn’t as open to third-party AI apps and extensions as Google is.

Mainly because the majority of Outlook users leverage the desktop app to access their email. If you wanna get your AI hands dirty, there’s a few choices:

Try this:
MailMaestro is your best bet for the AI/Outlook combo without getting your hands TOO dirty.

If you’re down with connecting your Outlook to a third-party email software, you can try Sequoia-backed Canary Mail. Or, if you’re accessing your Outlook via a browser, Hyperwrite could be your new bestie.

3 – Add AI to your Gmail 🤖

Hold on to our eyeballs here. When it comes to apps and extensions that work seamlessly with Gmail/Gsuite/Google Workspace, you’ve got options for days. Mainly because of AI and GPT-powered Chrome extensions, Gmail users have a legit cornucopia of ways to save hours.

Try this:
Aside from Hyperwrite, let’s dive into some of the best (and our favorites) AI and GPT superstars:

Hypertype — Your intelligent email assistant

Shortwave — Intelligent email powered by AI

Flowrite — Flow through your inbox (with AI)

DratLab — Your Gmail copilot powered by AI.

Ellie — Your AI email assistant powered by GPT4

Magical — Get more sh//t done with AI

Jasper — Generate compelling emails and subject lines

MaxAI — Write better with confidence

Merlin — ChatGPT for Gmail

Now This …
