1. Microsoft’s Copilot Levels Up with Personalization, Memory, and Vision Features 🛠️

Microsoft is marking its 50th anniversary by turbo-charging its AI assistant, Copilot, with a slew of new AI Copilot features that rival ChatGPT, Gemini and Claude. The updates include memory for tailored responses, personalization options (yes, Clippy is back!), and web-based actions like booking tickets or finding discounts.

Copilot Vision now enables the AI to analyze your screen or phone camera, while Deep Research integrates with Bing to tackle complex projects and even create podcasts. These changes signal Microsoft’s aggressive push to stay competitive in the AI race while making Copilot a versatile tool for productivity across devices.

2. Microsoft's Copilot Learns How to Take Action Online 🖱️

Microsoft’s Copilot is now capable of acting on your behalf across websites as Microsoft announced Copilot’s new agentic capabilities. The chatbot can book flights, reserve restaurant tables, and even send gifts through partnerships with platforms like Expedia, OpenTable, and Tripadvisor.

This “agentic” functionality mirrors competitors like OpenAI’s Operator, but it's unclear how well Copilot performs or whether websites might block its actions. For users, this upgrade could mean less time spent navigating apps and more efficiency in tackling everyday tasks.

3. Report: Meta May Delay Llama 4 AI Release Again 🦙

Meta Platforms is reportedly holding off on launching its latest AI model, Llama 4, after internal benchmarks revealed shortcomings in reasoning and math capabilities, according to Reuters. The delay highlights Meta’s struggle to match OpenAI’s advanced models, particularly in humanlike voice interactions, as competition heats up in the AI space.

With plans to spend up to $65 billion on AI infrastructure this year, Meta faces pressure from investors to deliver groundbreaking results amidst rising challenges from lower-cost rivals like China’s DeepSeek. The release strategy for Llama 4 remains uncertain, with Meta considering rolling it out via Meta AI first before potentially going open-source.

4. UN Study: AI Could Shake Up 40% of Jobs Worldwide 🌎

A new report from the U.N. Trade and Development agency warns that artificial intelligence could impact 40% of global jobs while deepening inequality between nations. Projected to hit a staggering $4.8 trillion market value by 2033—on par with Germany’s economy—AI’s benefits remain concentrated in wealthier countries, leaving developing nations at risk of falling behind.

The report highlights that major AI players, primarily in the U.S. and China, dominate innovation, fueling concerns over job losses and widening economic divides. To level the playing field, the UN suggests global cooperation, ethical frameworks, and reskilling initiatives to ensure AI drives inclusive growth rather than exacerbating existing disparities.

5. OpenAI CEO Shakes Up GPT-5 Roadmap 🗺️

OpenAI’s Sam Altman announced a major pivot, revealing plans to launch two intermediate models, o3 and o4-Mini, before rolling out GPT-5 in a few months, according to his post on X.

The decision comes as technical hurdles delay GPT-5's development, while competitors like Google’s Gemini 2.5 Pro and DeepSeek R2 ramp up industry pressure with cheaper and stronger reasoning models. Altman hinted the staggered releases will ease demand strain and allow the team to supercharge GPT-5, promising it will unify OpenAI’s multimodal capabilities into one seamless system.
