With 93% of manufacturing leaders planning to increase AI spending in 2023, the cautious approach towards AI adoption is evident.

Translate text inside ChatGPT with Mixerbox's GPT Translator

Translating text used to be very expensive and time-consuming.

Now with AI, you can translate and analyze text.

We’re showing you how to use the MixerBox GPT translator in ChatGPT.

🦾How You Can Leverage:

Energy can be an easy thing to overlook.

But, we’ve seen the stories about how resource-heavy Generative AI can be.

Like, how a single ChatGPT prompt can be 10X more resource-hungry than a Google search.

So on today’s show, we took a look at how one company is balancing that problem out.

We chatted with Aymeric Maudous, the CEO at Lord of the Trees.

He gave us some behind-the-scenes look at not how his company is using AI to actually conserve energy in the long-run, but also dish his feelings on how other business leaders can better balance the environmental impact of Generative AI.

Ready to get a lil greener, you resource hog, you?

(J/K.)

But for real though, let’s learn some things from our convo with Aymeric today

1, 2, Treeeeeeeee 🌳

1 – AI in the sky = better eyes ⛅

Forget them grainy Google Earth shots.

Aymeric's crew is taking "eyes in the sky" to a whole new level and combining AI, drones and robots to plant trees.

Their flying drones are equipped with more tech than Best Buy.

We're talking multispectral cameras and LiDAR sensors that can spot a needle in a forest-sized haystack.

But here's the kicker: Aymeric said these AI-powered flying drones are 13 times more efficient than your average Joe with a clipboard looking for seeds to plant.

(Lo siento Joe)

Try this:

Next time you're drowning in data, think like Aymeric's drones.

What AI tools could give you that bird's eye view of your problem?

Maybe it's predictive analytics to spot trends, or an AI assistant to sift through your inbox.

Oh, and for more on how accurate AI-powered drones can be — we gotchyu.

This study found that AI-powered drones with multispectral imaging can detect plant stress and disease up to 3 weeks earlier than traditional methods, with 95% accuracy

2 – High tech + LO-TEK For the Win 🤝

He and the Lord of the Trees crew are combining cutting-edge tech with good ol' fashioned local know-how.

They use their AI-powered tech for the initial survey and planting, sure.

But then they bring in the Local Traditional Knowledge (LO-TEK) to balance the high tech touches.

It's like mixing a supercomputer with your grandma's secret garden tips.

This isn't just feel-good fluff.

It's creating jobs, building skills, and ensuring those baby trees don't become nature's version of abandoned gym memberships.

Try this:

It’s easy to try and sprinkle AI on anything like you’re Salt Bae.

Instead, look for ways to blend high-tech AI with grassroots efforts in your own projects.

Or, how you can tap into the best of your employees expertise and blend it with the best AI has to offer.

Check out this Deloitte study, which shows that 78% of companies successfully implementing AI reported that integrating AI with existing human expertise was crucial for optimal results.

So, us ‘old school’ humans are still needed to help the AI.

YAY!

(Is it weird we call humans old school? Oy vey.)

3 – Worth exploring: Digital Twins 👥

Hold onto your eco-friendly hats, 'cause this is where it gets really wild.

Aymeric's team is working on creating digital twins of entire ecosystems. Yeah, you heard that right.

Imagine having a virtual copy of a forest that you can tinker with, like The Sims but for Mother Nature.

Want to see what happens if you plant more mahogany?

Curious about the impact of a drier rainy season?

Just hit play on your forest simulator.

This isn't just cool tech for tech's sake.

These digital doppelgangers could be game-changers for understanding complex ecosystems, predicting the impact of climate change, and planning more effective conservation strategies.

Think of the cost saving, hours savings, and power savings in the long run when you implement digital twins to simulate your next large project.

Try this:

The whole Digital Twins thing can be a bit confusing. We get it.

Yet, it’s important to understand this is the future of big business. We think almost everything will first be simulated before being put into production.

Some follow-up:
We talked with Fernando at Avanade about Digital Twins, and it was also one of our biggest takeaways from our NVIDIA/GTC partnership.
