1. Meta's AI Chatbot Integration Across Platforms 🦙

In a groundbreaking move, Meta has integrated its advanced AI chatbot, powered by Llama 3, across Instagram, Facebook Messenger and WhatsApp. This strategic rollout, announced by Mark Zuckerberg on April 15th, marks a significant leap forward in enhancing user engagement and interaction on these popular platforms.

With the ability to generate text, create images, and deliver personalized experiences, Meta AI is reshaping the way users interact with social media. Dive deeper into this technological marvel and discover how it's reshaping the social media landscape here.

2. Google's CEO Makes Moves to Accelerate AI Development 👀

In a recent announcement, CEO Sundar Pichai revealed plans to restructure Google's teams to expedite the development of artificial intelligence products and services. This reorganization involves consolidating the models, research and responsible AI teams under the flagship artificial intelligence division, Google DeepMind. By streamlining these efforts, Google aims to enhance its focus on launching innovative AI tools more rapidly and efficiently.

3. AI Takes Center Stage at Olympics 🏟

The International Olympic Committee is rolling out AI, with plans to revolutionize the Olympic experience. From identifying future sports stars to personalizing training regimens, AI is set to take the games to a whole new level of precision and performance. Other uses include AI-powered judging systems ensuring fairness and accuracy. With the Paris Olympics countdown ticking, the stage is set for a tech-infused extravaganza.

4. US States Take on Discrimination in Decision-Making 🇺🇸

Lawmakers from various states are joining forces to combat bias in artificial intelligence decision-making processes, which could affect job interviews, housing, and even healthcare. The proposed bills aim to increase transparency and accountability in AI systems to prevent discrimination against marginalized groups. With industry support but concerns about potential lawsuits and trade secrets, the legislation marks a critical step toward regulating AI technologies.

5. Brave Unveils Answer AI in Search Engine 🔍

In a bid to revolutionize the search engine scene, Brave introduces Answer AI, a game-changing feature that condenses search results for quick consumption. Unlike its competitors, Brave's innovative AI technology scours multiple sources to provide users with a single, easy-to-digest answer. This move not only enhances user privacy but also redefines the search experience by offering immediate and relevant results.

Meta Llama 3: What You Need To Know

Meta Llama 3 is here!

Is this the next revolutionary AI model or just hype?

We’re diving into what you need to know about Meta Llama 3 and its potential impact.

🦾How You Can Leverage:

That was fun, right?

For the second straight day, we put you all in control of today’s podcast and livestream.

You wanted to put me on the hot seat, apparently.

Welp, let’s recap some of the best questions from today’s show, and answer a few that we didn’t have time to get to.

Let’s goooooooo 👇

There’s huuuuuuuge implications here with Llama 3.

Instead of wasting digital ink, I’ll just embed to this Twitter/X thread that covers this in super deep detail.

Coffee Chats

I’m Nespresso.

All day.

Every day.

If you ever see a coffee cup on the livestream, it’s 100% always Nespresso in that cup.

MMLU

GREEEEAT question.

We talk about the Massive Multitask Language Undertanding benchmarking all the time on the show.

To oversimplify it, the MMLU benchmark is basically a mega-quiz that checks if AI can handle everything from Shakespeare to science facts—it's like making a robot sweat through final exams!

LOLing at robots sweating.

It helps us all figure out if these AIs are smarty-pants or if they still need some schooling with nearly 16,000 questions across 57 subjects using a variety of prompting techniques.

AI Phone Apps

I’ve got fat fingers, and barely use my phone TBH.

So I wish I had some spicy answer, but I only have ChatGPT and Copilot on my phone.

(But, I also have a computer within 5 feet of me like 90% of my waking hours. Even on short drives.)

DevOps and Writing

Without having the ability to have a back and forth conversation on this one, some of the best platforms for DevOps deployment would be: AWS, GitLab, Microsoft Azure, TensorFlow, Google Cloud, etc.

For content creation: ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Jasper, CopyAI and Writesonic.

AI Anxiety

Still trying to balance the whole work-life balance thing. I’m no good at that.

AI anxiety? Sometimes it can feel overwhelming for sure.

I’m not an anxious person, but as someone that covers AI every dang day, it’s tough to NOT feel a constant sense of ‘what am I missing?’

Disinformation

While AI is actually great at detecting AI cyber threats and AI deepfakes, AI is not yet great at detecting AI disinformation.

At least not that I know of.

That’s because so much of today’s disinformation is more text-based, which is a bit harder to detect. Right now, most people can still spot AI-generated photos, videos and deepfakes.

But this Microsoft VASA-1…. yikes.

Numbers to watch

38%

38% of medical providers are using AI for diagnostic assistance.
