1. Argentina's AI-Driven Election 🇦🇷

Argentina is poised to host what might be the world's first major presidential election heavily influenced by AI. Both leading candidates are openly utilizing AI-generated imagery and videos in their campaigns. These tools are being used not only for self-promotion but also to launch attacks against each other. However, this innovative use of AI teeters on the edge of disinformation, highlighted by one campaign's release of a deepfake video.

2. CISA's AI Roadmap for US National Security 🇺🇸

The US Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) has released a comprehensive roadmap for adopting artificial intelligence in national security. This strategic plan aims to enhance the United States' cyber defense capabilities through AI integration. The roadmap focuses on developing AI tools and strategies to counter cyber threats and protect critical infrastructure.

3. UnitedHealth's AI Controversy in Elderly Care đźš‘

A lawsuit has been filed against UnitedHealth Group Inc, alleging that their AI algorithm systematically denies elderly patients' claims for extended care. The class action suit claims that this AI system wrongfully denies necessary nursing facility stays for older patients. This case raises concerns about the ethical use of AI in healthcare and its impact on patient care.

4. Baidu CEO's Caution on China's AI Rush 🇨🇳

Baidu's CEO has warned against China's hasty development of AI models, cautioning that it could lead to resource wastage. He emphasizes the importance of focusing on practical applications of AI rather than rushing into large language model development. This statement reflects a growing concern about the efficient and responsible use of resources in the AI race.

5. Airbnb's Strategic Acquisition of GamePlanner.AI 🏠

Create custom podcasts in ChatGPT to learn anything faster! 🔊

Looking for a quick and fun way to learn about something new or trending news?

We're showing you how you can create custom podcasts with ChatGPT to help you learn anything from the internet.

(Just don’t replace us with this trick. Deal?)

🤷‍♂️ What’s Going On and Why It Matters:

When you think Generative AI, you prolly think of ChatGPT.

Or Midjourney.

Or….. oh my gosh Becky, look at this AI generated website. It is sooooo big.

But Generative AI is SO much more than AI generated art and GPT-powered words. And it’s capable of so much more.

We’re talking making communities safer, reducing car crashes, and making sure we don’t get stuck on the airplane tarmac for a second longer than we need to be.

How’s THAT side of Generative AI work?

That’s what we tackled today with Adam Scraba, the Director of Marketing for NVIDIA

If you’ve been (somehow?) hiding under the largest rock and don’t know NVIDIA’s role in the world today, here’s the 101.

  • ChatGPT? Trained with NVIDIA’s GPUs.

  • Your PC? Probably running on NVIDIA.

  • Thousands of other products and services you use legit all day? Prolly powered by NVIDIA’s hardware or software.

From automotive and healthcare to gaming and data centers — NVIDIA has its footprint in about every aspect of our day to day lives.

So how are they using all of that data from all of those devices to change how we interact with the world?

In pretty cool ways, TBH.

Adam gave us an inside look at how GenAI and data intersect, and how NVIDIA is shaping how that combo affects our daily lives.

Even in the physical world.

Today's show gave us unique insights from one of the largest companies in the world that has its hand in just about every aspect of our daily lives.

You don’t wanna miss the conversation

And if you DID miss it, go leave Adam and Jordan a question

Here’s the gist of what we dished on:

  • How the use of GPUs has helped push the generative AI movement forward

  • How efficiency and safety go hand in hand for NVIDIA's GenAI-enabled products

  • Autonomous robots and smart factories are a big focus for NVIDIA

  • How GenAI makes data and insights accessible to everyone

  • NVIDIA's impactful role in AI and Automation

  • Prediction about automation in daily life, such as offices, airports, and retail

And more.

We get it, though, y’all.

This is a big one to tackle. Like… all of this data and GenAI is gonna impact our lives AWAY from computers and smartphones?

Yup.

Let’s talk about what it means for us all. 👇

🦾How You Can Leverage:

Sensors.

GPU Chips.

Cameras.

Billions of devices.

That’s ….. a lot of data.

What’s Generative AI actually mean when combined with like a quadrillion data points?

Adam gave us a breakdown on not only what it means, but how NVIDIA is combining new-age Generative AI with old-school data and automation to pave the path forward.

In short, Adam talked about how this intersection of Data and GenAI not only changes how we’ll interact with the physical world in the near future, but he also laid out how it’ll make our communities and cities more efficient AND safer.

And, as we fanboyed about months ago, NVIDIA’s GPU chip game is leading the charge. Like, they’re leap years ahead of everyone else

That means that almost all of the GenAI systems we use and love from the world’s biggest tech companies run on NVIDIA’s Graphics Processing Unit chips.

(Oh, and those NVIDIA GPUs are about to get much faster, powerful and efficient.)

Enough dorking around. What’s all this computing power, data and Generative AI actually mean for us?

Here’s the scoop, shorties. đźŤ¨

(Take these massive concepts and break them down to make them work for your company.)

1 – Safety and efficiency for the win ️🦺

Better and faster AI means faster businesses.

And a fringe benefit of more efficient companies is usually safer companies, Adam said.

With NVIDIA pushing the envelope of faster and more powerful Generative AI through its GPU hardware and AI-powered software, the business world benefits by gaining its time back. And those benefits play out everywhere, not just in the corporate boardroom.

Adam pointed out a HUGE safety benefit of data and improved AI — safety on the roads.

Try this: Wanna see how data and Generative AI can come together to make real change in how we interact with the physical world? Adam mentioned NVIDIA’s Vision-Zero initiative aimed at reducing car crashes with AI and data.

2 – Less friction in the real world ⚠️

That unnecessarily infuriating 1 pm traffic?

Waiting for hours for the airplane to take off?

These are the big-world daily frictions NVIDIA is tackling, armed with unlimited data and some of the world’s strongest technology.

Try this: Adam talked about one of the (exciting) challenges of working at a global juggernaut like NVIDIA is tackling huge societal problems. Reducing daily friction in the real world is one of them. The solution? NVIDIA helping to build smarter cities to solve problems we face every day.

3 – Smarter workplaces with GenAI 🏢

Automation and robotics aren’t just for warehouses.

Nope.

This is where the Generative part really comes into play.

Large Language Models give everyday companies the opportunity to talk with their data. In real time. Adam gave the example of average companies being able to talk with their data. Or, using LLMs to turn old school automation smarter by giving everyday people the ability to control it with simple, natural language.

Try this: Because of the explosion of large language models, for the first time, we can ask questions of our data with natural language. Whether you work in retail, a warehouse or a cubicle, smart agents are changing the biz game. OpenAI’s new custom GPTs are just a glimpse into the future of agents.
