🤷‍♂️ What’s Going On and Why It Matters:

Whoops.

Didn’t mean to accidentally rant about ChatGPT plugins for 30+ minutes.

Why should we even care about plugins?

Well, if you listened to (or watched) today’s episode, you know why.

QUOTE

We cut through the BS that everyone else on the internet is talking about (Here’s 173 plugins to make you a millionaire! 🤮) and showed you how to actually use ChatGPT plugins.

Dr. Geddes knew what’s up

Don’t believe us?

We busted out this DDV Plugin pack live on the show (jump to it here), and in less than a minute, it read a 100+ page PDF, pulled information we asked it about from multiple pages, created a chart and CSV, and also put together a color-coded graph.

That’s called a business solution.

(And this one hits home, as I’ve spent thousands of hours doing the above manually, but it can now be done in seconds. You feel that?)

We’ve got your interest now?

Dang right.

Alright, let’s plug in and break this episode down 👇

🦾How You Can Leverage:

Alright, you’re now thinking about ChatGPT plugins differently.

Good.

Now, let’s unpack the random rambling of this marathon Everyday AI episode into some actionable takeaways.

1 – Reverse engineer your work ⚙️

Getting dorky on ya here.

This is what we do day-to-day at Everyday AI’s parent company, Accelerant Agency. We build digital strategies for companies, starting at the end.

That’s the same way you should be using ChatGPT plugins. Don’t just find a “cool tool” plugin and try and make it fit. That’s like using a Lamborghini as a paperweight.

Try this: Jot down how you spend your time doing manual computer tasks in your role. We talked about five categories of work: meetings, learning, writing, analyzing, and presenting. From there, break down your busy work tasks and find where you’re spending most of your time, and find the right ChatGPT plugin that can immediately start doing that work for you.

2 – Try it for yourself 🫵

OK, we weren’t gonna even share the prompt we used in the show.

Mainly because we’re not big fans of one-shot prompts, and we only really used the prompt for illustrative purposes.

But, Dr. Harvey Castro convinced me.

Try this: First, start a new GPT4 Chat and click Plugins. Then, search for and install these plugins to recreate our DDV Plugin Pack from above:

  • Ai PDF

  • Make a Sheet

  • daigr.am

Then, copy/paste this prompt and see it for yourself:

Please assume the role of a financial analyst at Nike. you are known for being able to read through long documents, and pulling out the most important information at the level of a management consultant and chief financial officer. For this task, please Read this Nike annual report and tell me what was our results of operations for fiscal 2019.
Here is the report: https://s1.q4cdn.com/806093406/files/doc_downloads/2021/08/Nike10k2021.pdf

After you've analyzed all of the data, then please use those results from above that you report to me, and then please create a spreadsheet displaying the results of your analysis for our operations for fiscal 2019. Please make sure to label all corresponding data and include any complimentary data that is needed according to your analysis.

Finally, from the CSV that you generated above, please also create a visual representation of the data using a graph or diagram with the diagram plugin that is best suited for the data above. please include enough of the data to tell a complete story with the data visualization, and use properly labeling or create a comprehensive key if needed. The visualization should be complete enough to tell the whole story of impact from the data that you've included.

3 – Learn the basics with PPP 📚

Ok, this ChatGPT plugins breakdown was technically a bit advanced.

We didn’t really talk about HOW to actually use ChatGPT the right way. We skipped right to junior level classes without getting the freshman orientation.

That’s where our Prime, Prompt, Polish course comes in. It’s free, and it’ll completely change how you use ChatGPT and the internet.

Here’s what some smart people said about our PPP course👇
