šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø Whatā€™s Going On and Why It Matters:

Wait, weā€™re talking about ā€¦ AI chips?

I know what youā€™re thinking.

Yaaaaaaawn.

But real talk: Nvidiaā€™s GPU production, in our minds, will soon make it the largest company in the world. (Right now, itā€™s the 6th largest by market cap) All the biggest companies in the world are investing in Generative AI, and Nvidia is the main option for those companies to ramp up production.

So if you enjoy tools like ChatGPT, use services like Facebook, or have a smartphone, or have a 401K, then you should know about chips.

Letā€™s simplify it here.

Nvidia is a leader in making GPUs, or Graphical Processing Units. In short, GPUs are the chips that run Generative AI.

Right now, Nvidia has about 80% market share for AI-powering GPUs, and thatā€™s expected to go to more than 90% soon. Essentially, no other companies can compete with Nvidia on quantity or quality.

ChatGPT = GPU chips from Nvidia.

Microsoftā€™s AI = GPU chips from Nvidia.

Midjourney = GPU chips via Google Cloud

In short, itā€™s good to know about AI chips.

Letā€™s take a deeper dip

šŸ¦¾How You Can Leverage:

Cool, chips are important.

I mean, Tostitos for the win, right?

But, how do AI chips impact your life?

If we take a step outside of our day-to-day, itā€™s important to understand how companies in the AI space are using AI, and specifically how chips are powering all these advancements.

Letā€™s take a look at how GPU chips are pushing development in all aspects of our life, whether we know it or not.

1 ā€“ Stocks are driven by Gen AI šŸ¤–

AI and GPU chips are fueling the stock market.

Like we talked about in todayā€™s show, the U.S. stock marketā€™s recent growth has largely been fueled by companies investing in Generative AI. And almost all of those Big Tech companies are using Nvidia chips.

Recent studies have shown that more than half of the economyā€™s recent growth is attributed to companies investing in Generative AI.

Actually, AI/tech-related stocks have doubled the growth of non-AI/tech stocks in the S&P 500. And again, almost all of the major winners in the S&P are using Nvidia chips for their AI efforts.

Try this:
Weā€™re definitely not advising you on what to do with your investments. (We have a recent episode on that, though) However, if you arenā€™t already keeping an eye on GenAI companies and their impact on the US Economy, you should.

2 ā€“ The military is all in on AI šŸŖ–

At least in the US, the military has gone all in on AI.

And itā€™s no longer the last line of defense ā€” itā€™s foten the first. The military is using AI to speed up the process of identifying points of interest on satellite imagery, to drive drones and even to target US enemies faster and more accurately.

The military is also using Generative AI tools, such as large language models, to better interpret data and help it make more informed decisions. And yes, Nvidia chips (and others) are used on the battlefield.

Try this:
Regardless of your political stance, or even where you live, traditional AI and even Generative AI is moving to the front lines of battlefields worldwide.

To get caught up, check out this great recap from Bloomberg on the US military using Generative AI, and this interview on NPR about how AI is changing how wars are fought.

3 ā€“ Are GPUs the new gold? āš±ļø

Weā€™ve heard data is the new oil. But, is it Actually GPU chips?

It may seem crazy, but be prepared to see a lot of GPU chip headlines in the news.

This week, a bipartisan group of legislators urged the Biden admin to tighten rules on US chip companies, such as Nvidia, exporting chips to adversary counties such as China and Russia.

In short, weā€™re starting to see lawmakers worry about the US sharing its GPU chips with countries that may use the tech against the US.

Try this:
Donā€™t waste hours every day trying to keep up with AI-related news that affects national security, politics or the economy.

Instead, just keep up with Everyday AI, as weā€™ll always break down the most important news for ya. If you canā€™t join us for the livestream, make sure to tune in to our podcast on Spotify or Apple Podcasts.

Now This ā€¦

Sooo yeah. NVIDIA and these AI chips are actually pretty dang important to the future of AI and the US.

Do you think NVIDIA will stay in spotlight for a while? Or will they be overthrown by another company?
