2. ChatGPT Violates EU Privacy Rules, Italian Regulators Say šŸ¤Æ

Italian regulators have informed OpenAI that its ChatGPT chatbot has breached the European Union's strict data privacy regulations. The country's data protection authority found evidence of privacy rule breaches, leading to a temporary ban on ChatGPT in Italy. OpenAI has stated that it believes its practices align with GDPR and other privacy laws, and it will work constructively with Italian regulators.

3. OpenAI and Common Sense Media: GPTs for Kid šŸ‘¶

OpenAI has teamed up with Common Sense Media to ensure the safety of children and teenagers using AI-powered tools. This partnership aims to curate "family-friendly" GPT apps based on Common Sense's rating evaluation standards, creating a marketplace for these apps on OpenAI's GPT Store. With concerns about AI's impact on young users, this collaboration intends to strengthen safety measures and provide education materials for parents and educators.

šŸ¦¾How You Can Leverage:

Why has it taken so long for companies to properly adapt GenAI?

Simple: education.

While the tech titans are sprinting to build new AI models at breakneck pace, theyā€™re not investing matching resources in education and training.

Worse yet?

Everyday business leaders are looking for AI inspiration in all the wrong places.

The silent AI productivity killer is a lack of GenAI education.

Hereā€™s some cold, hard facts about how the lack of large-scale GenAI training is tanking adoption:

Deloitte study: 79% expect GenAI to transform their company within 3 years.

EY study: 73% are concerned about their organization not offering sufficient training

Forbes study: 83% of companies claim that using AI in their business strategies is a top priority.

Workday study: 80% say their company has yet to share guidelines on responsible AI use

Workday study: 72% - say their org doesnā€˜t have skills to properly implement AI useļ»æ

Tech.co study: only 4% of companies have implemented AI throughout their org

Biiiig yikes.

Letā€™s break down why itā€™s a problem, and how we can go about fixing it.

Ready for the 1-2-3 treatment?

Us too. šŸ‘‡

1 ā€“ Stop Following Billy Boys šŸ§‘ā€šŸŽØļø

The build vs train dynamic is a legit plague when it comes to GenAI adaption.

We talked about this on todayā€™s show. We have (literally) the brightest minds in the world building AI, but the AI tech titans arenā€™t as focused on training.

Instead, weā€™re drowning in snake oil AI pitches like this from (fictional) Billy Boys. Theyā€™re made up.

But Billy Boys are also very real. They use fake engagement on social media to elevate their snake oil solutions in hope you wonā€™t notice they actually have zero experience in anything.

But yeah, totally buy their useless prompts thatā€™ll make you rich.

(And doesnā€™t live in a basement with his mom.)

2 ā€“ Take advantage of limited resources šŸŽÆ

Sure, there are some great educational resources on Generative AI.

But if weā€™re calling a Spade a Spade, weā€™ll also say thereā€™s not enough. Just about every billion dollar company with AI offerings has a few free courses that can teach you the ropes.

(But our šŸ”„šŸ”„šŸ”„ take here is: itā€™s not enough. A good chunk of these free trainings are a bit sales-y, and these same big tech companies should be investing deeply in their tens of thousands of employees. We hear from tech leaders at multi-billion and trillion dollar companies frequently on how their companies are more focused on building AI than even training their employees on the AI theyā€™re building. Party foul.)

If you need a little guidance from the big dogs of AI tech, hereā€™s a list of the best of the best of whatā€™s out there.

Hereā€™s some of the best GenAI courses for free:
