1. AI's 'Doom Calculator' Predicts Lifespan 🕒

Danish researchers have developed an AI algorithm, nicknamed the 'doom calculator,' capable of predicting death within four years with over 75% accuracy. The life2vec model, using data on over 6 million people from Denmark, analyzes factors like health, education, and income to forecast lifespans. While the model's predictions are not disclosed to individuals, it raises ethical questions about the use of AI in life predictions.

2. GAO to Review Pentagon's AI Strategy 🛡️

In early 2024, the Government Accountability Office (GAO) will formally assess the Pentagon's revamped AI strategy. This review follows a 2022 report urging the Department of Defense (DOD) to improve its AI frameworks and inventory processes. The GAO's assessment will determine if the new strategy aligns with their recommendations, focusing on avoiding fragmentation and duplication in AI adoption.

3. AI-Generated Misinformation: A Rising Threat 🚨

The proliferation of AI-generated misinformation is becoming a significant concern, as highlighted by MSNBC. Over 600 unreliable AI-generated news sites have been identified, showing a 1000% increase since May. These sites, often lacking human oversight, produce numerous articles on various topics, some of which have influenced social media and news cycles.

4. Zoom's AI Features at No Extra Cost 📹

Zoom is enhancing its video-conferencing platform by offering AI features to paid customers without additional costs. This strategic move aims to provide more data-led features using a federated multi-model architecture for AI, ensuring better efficiencies. Zoom's AI tools, like AI Companion and Zoom Docs, automate tasks and summarize meetings, improving user experience. The company's commitment to not using customer data for training AI models emphasizes privacy.

5. The Dukes of Hazzard star says AI can’t simulate heart 🎬

John Schneider, star of "The Dukes of Hazzard," expresses his lack of concern over the rise of artificial intelligence in the entertainment industry. He believes AI lacks the heart and soul essential for true creativity, comparing it to artificial dairy creamer – useful, but never a substitute for the real thing. Schneider's analogy highlights his view that AI, while potentially beneficial, cannot replicate the human elements of art and creativity.

Our last day of Everyday AI’s 12 days of Plugins kinda got interrupted …

Did the Grinch (OpenAI) steal Christmas (Plugins)?

Maybe.

On Day 12 of our 12 Days of ChatGPT Plugins, it looks like there’s some rumblings about ChatGPT plugins being replaced. And we’re seeing the issues ourselves.

Regardless, we’re still naming Zapier our 12th Plugin of the 12 Days of ChatGPT plugins.

Go check out what it can do. This plugin is the game-changer of all game-changers (if Plugins are still around in 2024, that is!)

🤷‍♂️ What’s Going On and Why It Matters:

2024 GenAI predictions incoming!

We dropped some of our hottest takes on the future of Generative AI in 2024. (Keep reading for that below!)

But part of learning and leveraging AI together is doing it together. With that in mind, we’re featuring some of our faves from the livestream below!

Robots with eyes?

We’re here for that.

LLMs will be pre-training LLMS with LLM-written content?

It’s like Inception, but with content.

Fashion we can jive with.

But can it be a lil cheaper though?

Jordan getting stolen?

Nah. We’re staying here. Them companies can’t stop the Everyday AI train!

AI is eating up all the energy

The industry has gotta get that under control.

2024 = Innovate or Die

We legit couldn’t agree more.

There’s even more bold GenAI predictions from our audience here.

Now, onto OUR take for 2024.

🦾How You Can Leverage:

Real talk — if you want to grow your company or career, today’s episode is a required listen.

Seriously.

We’ve talked to more than a 120+ GenAI leaders.

And SOOOOO much of the juiciest scoops come off-camera. Sometimes, before and after is where we get the real talk.

So, today we’re peeling it all back.

Here’s our 24 bold predictions for GenAI in 2024:

1. GenAI wave will be tsunami. 2023 is just a warmup. GenAI doesn’t follow the normal ‘hype cycle’ rules. There will be more buzz, more talk, more investment, more tools, more EVERYTHING GENAI in 2024 than there was in 2023.

2. Big acquisition in the LLM space (Google, Microsoft, openAI or Anthropic will make an acquisition of a much smaller LLM competitor. Not sure which one it’ll be, but it’s bound to happen.)

3. Early AI movers will gobble up bigger competitors. You’ll see some name brand companies get lapped up because they dragged their feet on GenAI implementation.

4. Job prospects will be scary. Ai in the workplace will lead to job loss. Big companies will finally figure out GenAI and lay off thousands. Not to be the bearer of bad news. But this is the truth.

5. OpenAI will need a GPT boost (official gpt 4.5, additional features/stability, plugin functionality, etc)

6. Small wrappers will start dying. (Think of all those flimsy companies that are just taking OpenAI’s API and making it look pretty.)

7. 2024 is the year of AI VIdeo (specifically pika labs and if we get Runway Gen3)

8. GPT 5 will outshine Gemini Ultra. (If it comes out!)

9. NVIDIA’s stock will continue to soar. We told you SOOOOOO long ago that NVIDIA was probably the most important company in the U.S.

10. Big tech companies will become the new venture arms. (Microsoft, Amazon, NVIDIA, Google, Amazon, etc. will be making more investments than traditional VC/PE firms)

11. GenAI training demand will outpace supply.

(Go watch the livestream to get free access to our 3-hour course!)

You’d be surprised the companies that tell us (off the record) that their trillion dollar employers aren’t providing them with GenAI training. And they all want it!

12. AI Copyright battles become commonplace. Those attention-grabbing headlines that we’ve been seeing 1-2 a month will be more like 1-2 times a week.

13. Traditional internet browsing becomes unbearable (websites are getting less traffic do to AI search, so they’ll doubling down on ads. This will become problematic and a pain point we all feel daily.)

14. Retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) become the next hot buzzword in the GenAI space. We’ll be covering this in January!

15. AI Agents will finally become usable. Within 18 months, there will likely be more agents than humans. Seriously.

16. Home assistants will actually get smart. This is the worst. (No joke… this is the exact moment an AI took over the livestream. Talk about freaky.)

17. Apple will join the AI party late, and be the coolest kid at the party. Think of having Apple’s AJAX/GPT on your hardware devices. Sign us up!

18. Grok will fade into oblivion (unless it integrates with X to automagically grow your reach/following.) To be honest, we feel X has a data input quality problem because of all the bots and coordinated misinformation campaigns plaguing the platform.

19. A lot of talk about AI watermarks, but they won’t work. There will be more tools removing AI watermarks than we can keep up with.

20. No meaningful AI legislation in the United States. Especially before the election cycle. It’s all teeth. No bite.

21. AI misinformation will run rampant during 2024 election cycle. It’s gonna be reeeeeeal bad y’all.

22. AI robotics will grab the limelight and start being used in real life. Between Optimus Gen-2 and Boston Dynamics, buckle up. This is gonna be happening, and not just in factories and assembly lines.

23. Education world will change with Individualized learning booming. We JUST talked about that.

24. Second Computer AI — trend of remote and hybrid workers who can’t use AI using it on a second computer. Or, using it via a hotspot if it’s blocked on their network.

Whhhhhhheeeeeew.

That was a lot.
