🤷‍♂️ What’s Going On and Why It Matters:

Welcome to the future, humans.

Today’s show with Josh Cavalier was our kind of episode.

(Hello crystal ball of AI! 🔮)

Josh is the founder of JoshCavalier.AI, where he serves as a GenAI teacher, consultant and speaker.

We always enjoy dorking out with others who spend their day-to-day in all aspects of Generative AI, so today’s episode was straight littered with AI goodies.

(Whoops, just dropped another insight.)

If you wanna know what the near-future of Generative AI holds, Josh dished his 5 ways that Generative AI will show up in 2024.

What’s your take? Go drop us a comment and let us know what you think.

We talked about the future of AI, why it requires good processes and better data, and why you’ve gotta put humans first.

Let’s get it. 👇

🦾How You Can Leverage:

Back in 2022, hardly anyone was talking about Generative AI.

Now, it can be tough to go a day without hearing about it.

Without a doubt, 2023 marked the rise of Generative AI.

We get it: AI ain’t nothing new. Certain industries and sectors have been leveraging Artificial Intelligence and machine learning for decades.

So what’s with the GenAI buzz? Well for the first time, AI is so easy your grandma can do it.

Tasks that used to be herculean are now pedestrian. Simple copy and pastes can create works of art or business strategies that could put consultancies to shame.

With all that momentum, you’re only likely to hear more and more about GenAI in 2024.

To get us prepared and focusing in the right direction, Josh Cavalier joined the show to make his picks on where GenAI will take us in 2024.

Josh shared his picks for 5 Ways Generative AI Shows up in 2024, and we’re here to break em all down for ya!

1 – Get your data right 📊

Something we always tell people when working with Generative AI: Garbage In, Garbage Out. The exact same can be said for data. Heading into 2024, you’ve gotta get your data game in check BEFORE diving into GenAI.

Try this:
Dirty data sinks ships, y’all. For the past decade, data has been the new oil. It’s any company’s most valuable commodity.

Before diving into GenAI, or gaining a large language model on your data, you’ve gotta get your data clean. Whether it’s refining your data collection process, fixing structural errors, or sharing access to a database, your success in GenAI starts (and ends) with data.

2 – Automation + AI = Win 🔁

When it comes to leveraging Generative AI in 2024, combining automation with AI is a winning strategy.

As Josh pointed out, automation has already had a significant impact on personal workflows, allowing for the quick creation of multiple outputs. The integration of AI-powered automation tools like Zapier and Make into your workflows can streamline tasks and free up time for more creative endeavors.

But how can you put this into play?

Try this:
Take a step back and document your workflows, both at the individual contributor level and for external customers. If you map out your workflow and understand your processes, you can make automation work for you.

Guess what y’all? We covered this in-depth in how to use Zapier for ChatGPT.

3 – Personalization will prevail 👥

Guess what we think about all your AI generated content?

Boooooooring.

The downside of GenAI is it makes content almost TOO easy to create. So what’s that mean for consumers? We’re gonna get flooded with mediocre content on every medium.

That’s because most people are creating mediocre content en masse with GenAI.

Try this:
If you’re going to use ChatGPT for content, as an example, you should be making sure it sounds less robotic and make it sound more like you.

4 – Multimodal future️ 🙌

What’s multimodal and why is it in our future? Multimodal is being able to use non-text for input and receive non-text for output.

Image in.

Video out.

Screenshot in.

Audio out.

Etc.

The early days of AI chats were text in, text out. That’s already started to change, and will continue to shift that way in 2024.

Try this:
Want to get an early look at multimodal? We got early-ish access to Dall-E 3 inside ChatGPT and showed y’all how it works.

5 – Prompt engineering is key️ 🔑

Josh had some great insights here, even as we bombarded him with some of our hot takes.

Even though GenAI models are becoming better at understanding simpler prompts, their capabilities are quickly changing. How to take advantage? Prompt engineering.

Don’t get confused by the fancy words. In short, prompt engineering is simply the practice of being able to get the most out of GenAI models with prompts.

Try this:
Prompt engineering is definitely a skill. We always recommend learning by fire — or jumping in on your own and figuring it out. Like you probably did when you learned how to use the Internet. Josh has also provided a great free resource with some of his favorite educational prompts that can help you get up to speed a bit faster.

Now This …

What are your takes on AI in 2024? Will our brains be connected to computers? Will robots be our coworkers?
