1. Warren Buffett Intrigued but Intimidated by AI 🤔

Warren Buffett, the investment guru himself, is scratching his head over AI and ChatGPT. While he's intrigued by the potential of AI, he's also a little spooked, comparing its world-changing potential to the atom bomb. He's not rushing to invest in AI, sticking to his rule of not investing in what he doesn't understand.

2. Instagram's Plans for AI Labeling 🏷

Instagram is stepping up its game against misinformation with a new feature that labels AI-generated content. The social media giant is working on notices that identify when AI has played a role in creating content.

3. Google's Med-PaLM M 🩺

Google's Health, Deepmind, and AI teams have unveiled Med-PaLM M, a game-changing AI model that can handle a variety of medical data, from clinical language to genomics, and it's acing a wide range of tasks using the same set of model weights. It's even outperforming specialist models and proving its worth in the biomedical field.

4. AMD's China Move: AI Chip Diplomacy 🇨🇳

AMD is considering developing an AI chip specifically for the Chinese market to comply with U.S. export curbs, following in the footsteps of Nvidia and Intel. CEO Lisa Su emphasized China's importance as a market and AMD's commitment to U.S. export controls during an earnings call.

5. Social Security Fraud with AI 😱

According to Kathy Stokes, director of fraud prevention at AARP's Fraud Watch Network, AI could make social security fraud easier and faster to execute. Scammers could use AI to create convincing fake communications, tricking you into giving up your personal information and redirecting your benefits to their accounts.

🤷‍♂️ What’s Going On and Why It Matters:

Is the future of healthcare exciting or scary when it comes to AI?

Maybe a little of both.

Like, will my next doctor be an AI?

And what about all my health data? Is that gonna be on the internet?

Luckily, we tagged in an expert to help us tackle those issues. Dr. Nadia Boutaoui is the Founder NanoNares Inc & Entrepreneurs for Healthcare Tech. (You can check her insights here in her newsletter!)

What did we learn? A TON.

Let’s dissect 👇

🦾How You Can Leverage:

Collision, incoming.

If you listened to today’s episode, you know there’s no way around it: the future of the medical industry is gonna collide head on with advancements in tech.

ChatGPTing with docs? We’ll probably be chatting with a ChatGPT-esque health assistant soon.

On-demand data? Our data will follow us around everywhere and (hopefully) improve our health.

Better at-home care? At-home care will likely get a huge boost thanks to advancements in personalized health data and increase accessibility.

There’s so much more to dissect from our convo with Nadia, so let’s break it down y’all.

1 – Check out Med-PaLM M 🩺

That’s a mouthful, right.

Google’s/Deepmind’s Med-PaLM M was just released.

So what is Med-PaLM M and why does it matter to you? To put it SUPER simply, think of Med-PaLM M of what would happen if Google decided to make a ChatGPT superpower focused on the medical industry. This just-announced model will be able to process and interpret biomedical data across text, images and even genomes.

Try this: Learn a bit more about Med-Palm M and what it means for us all.

2 – Make ChatGPT your doctor 👩‍⚕️

Alright, we aren’t doctors.

And this isn’t medical advice. Buuuuuut, don’t most doctors just Google things anyways?

We had some great LinkedIn comments today talking about how ChatGPT could be used to help patients get better care, faster.

(Again, always consult with your medical provider and all that, but don’t we all just start with Google and WebMD anyway?)

Eventually, healthcare systems will probably be rolling out their own AI chats, so you might as well get some practice now.

Try this: It’s cool to imagine what COULD be. But, it’s important to read up on how governing bodies view ChatGPT in the medical space. It’s a bit in-depth, but take a look at this report from the National Library of Medicine about ChatGPT in the healthcare space.

3 – Keep an eye on Apple 🍏

Wanna know what the future of AI and healthcare looks like?

Keep an eye on … Apple?

It may takes YEEEEARS until we see widespread AI adoption in the medical space. But what about our own personal health data? That’s where Apple is focusing on. They’re even building a an AI-powered health coaching service.

Try this: Keep an eye on what Apple announces next. Nadia mentioned AirPods that monitor brainwaves, which is a real thing. And we know that Apple is moving into the GPT space, as we talked about previously. Hate em or love em, Apple may be the unlikely player that pushes AI/medical adaption.
