1. US Newspapers sue Microsoft and OpenAI for AI Training 📰

A group of newspapers, including the New York Daily News and Chicago Tribune, filed a lawsuit against Microsoft and OpenAI, alleging the misuse of their articles to train AI systems. The lawsuit claims that Microsoft's Copilot and OpenAI's ChatGPT unlawfully copied millions of articles, leading to concerns about copyright infringement and reputational damage. The legal battle highlights the growing tension between tech giants and traditional media outlets over the use of content in AI development.

2. Google Urges U.S. to Update Immigration Policies For AI Talent 👥

Google is pushing for changes in U.S. immigration policies to bring in more AI and cybersecurity talent from abroad. The current system, including Schedule A, is seen as outdated and not meeting the demand for tech specialists. Competition for AI talent is fierce, with wages soaring up to $10 million. President Biden's executive order emphasizes the need to boost AI talent in the country.

3. NVIDIA's ChatRTX Adds Gemma, ChatGLM3, and CLIP Models 🟢

NVIDIA's ChatRTX is stepping up its game with Google's Gemma, ChatGLM3, and OpenAI's CLIP models joining the party. This means more powerful AI tools are now at your fingertips for analyzing personal data and searching through photos. With voice query support added through Whisper, ChatRTX is becoming the ultimate data detective for RTX GPU owners.

4. Microsoft Emails Reveals Concerns Over Google's AI 📩

In a series of emails from 2019, Microsoft executives express deep worry over Google's advancements in AI, particularly praising the AI-powered auto-complete feature in Gmail. The emails, part of an antitrust case against Google, show Microsoft's urgency to invest in OpenAI due to Google's technological edge in machine learning. Microsoft's strategic moves post-investment left even their arch-rival Google playing catch-up, unveiling a fierce tech competition unseen before.

5. US Military Puts the Brakes on Generative AI 🪖

The US military is hitting pause on generative AI experiments due to concerns over its potential dangers, highlighted by researchers in a recent essay. While generative AI has vast applications, including in simulated war games, there are risks of unintended consequences such as escalation to nuclear conflict. The Pentagon's cautious approach reflects the complex challenges of integrating this technology into military operations, balancing innovation with responsible deployment.

A custom GPT inside ChatGPT for sales

At the end of the day, we’re all selling something.

We created a GPT to help you sell your idea, product, or service so that you can save time and sell more.

🦾How You Can Leverage:

Whether your title has the world ‘sales’ in it or not, chances are you’re still selling something.

Whether you’re selling an idea to a director or selling a new program to a current client, most of us are always selling something.

Good news?

There’s some AI secrets that can help you spend less time selling and get more out of your time.

(Got your attention? Good!)

Today, we chatted with Ryan Staley, the CEO and Founder Whale Boss, a consultancy focusing on rapid sales results through sales systems and coaching.

Ryan shared some of his secrets to help old school sales processes quickly turn into new school AI sales systems.

Here’s the 1-2-3 of what you need to know 👇

 1 – Sales people don’t sell 🤑

Here’s a stat to chew on — Ryan said that sales people only spend about 20% of their time actually…. selling.

Instead, they’re running through a hamster wheel of manual sales-related tasks, like researching, prospecting, personalizing content, etc.

(Notice anything about those other tasks? Yeah, those are all things that Generative AI can now knock outta the park.)

Try this: Even if you or your sales team isn’t ready for a full-on investment, incorporating small doses of Generative AI tools into daily routines could significantly boost productivity. It's a simple yet powerful way to start leveraging AI in sales without overwhelming the team.

Here’s some of Ryan’s tips, and ours:

  • Use Perplexity daily instead of Googling.

  • Use ChatGPT or Microsoft Copilot for repetitive, time-sucking tasks, such as personalizing outreach messages.

  • Use CastMagic to turn your video or audio content into written content. (See our interview with CastMagic's founder here.)

  • Use a tool like Text Blaze to manage your prompts and see which prompts are being used the most.

Also, we gave you our own secrets of how we use GenAI in our day-to-day at Everyday AI.

2 – Don’t wait for perfect AI sales processes 🙅

If so many sales teams know about the power of sales in AI and they’ve tinkered around with different solutions, then why are they still not fully implementing AI in their processes?

Because they’re waiting for the one perfect process or perfect tool.

Sometimes, you gotta skate to where the puck is going.

And other times, you just gotta slap shot that thang when it’s within your reach.

It’s easy for salespeople to get caught in the trap of ‘what’s the next big wave of AI in sales?’

  • Should you wait for AI assistants?

  • Cold calling AI agents?

  • A digital clone so 10 of you can sell 24/7?

Nope.

Ryan said properly implementing AI into your sales process is an iterative process. You need to take advantage of what works for your team NOW.

Try this:
Ready for a crazy simple exercise that’ll probably pay huge dividends for your sales team?

  • Ryan emphasized the importance of replacing Google usage with ChatGPT or Copilot for 15 minutes daily. Start small.

  • He advised treating each AI tool like an intern, understanding its strengths and weaknesses like talking to a human.

  • Ryan recommended keeping a log of AI tool usage and writing down new ideas on how to use it effectively on a daily basis.

  • By consistently logging AI tool usage and brainstorming new ideas, individuals can integrate AI capabilities into their routines and transform their effectiveness over time.

3 – AI = live sales sidekick 🦸

If you’re in sales, you’re probably:

  • Constantly perfecting your pitch.

  • Obsessing over the follow-up email.

  • Trying to better see which lead is more likely to buy.

  • Reflecting back on missed opportunities and trying to decide where they went wrong.

Guess what these 4 things have in common?

They’re all time-consuming tasks based around a human’s ability to process unstructured data.

Again, something GenAI is much better at, as LLMs can quickly:

  • Analyze sales call transcripts for patterns.

  • Customize marketing messages and address common objections.

  • Understand customer emotions and enhance sales strategies.

Try this:

A superpower of large language models is being able to take unstructured data, like thousands of call transcripts, conversations, and notes, and turning that into actionable insights.

And not just that — but there’s dozens of AI-powered pieces of software focused on helping out sales people prep for meetings, give insights live mid-call, and follow up based on how the call went.

This breakdown from Zapier is a must-read for the right AI tools to use at the right time for anyone in sales.
