Google's rapid expansion of energy-hungry data centers leads to a 48% surge in greenhouse gas emissions over five years, hindering its net zero target by 2030. The tech giant faces challenges as AI drives data center electricity consumption, potentially doubling by 2026 and accounting for 4.5% of global energy use by 2030.
Big tech's push for AI innovation clashes with environmental pledges, raising concerns about carbon footprints and water usage in the AI boom.

🦾How You Can Leverage:
“Hey {first_name}, I noticed you breathe oxygen. Wanna buy my stuff?" 🙄
You get those legit all the time? Or that just us?
Let’s be honest — AI is both a blessing and a gosh darn curse.
Unfortunately, many people in sales use AI and the power of large language models for lazy, uninspiring outreach.
Yaaaaaawn.
Manny Medina is trying to help us all change that.
He’s the CEO and co-founder of Outreach, a leading sales engagement platform that offers AI-powered solutions to enhance sales team productivity and drive revenue growth.
Manny dished all about how AI is flipping the script on cold outreach.
Bye bye boring personalization.
Manny's dropping knowledge on how to use AI to create sales messages that are so relevant, your prospects might think you're psychic.
(Spoiler: You're not. You're just smart enough to use AI the right way.)
Ready to turn your cold outreach into hot leads?
Let's get this party started, {reader first name}!
Lolz.
1 – Ditch the BS personalization 🚮️
Y'all, Manny's not mincing words here.
He says personalization is straight-up B.S.
Fighting words on a Wednesday? Loooove to see it.
But hear him out.
That "We're both from the Midwest!" as your AI-powered opener in a first message to a cold prospect?
It's about as useful as a screen door on a submarine.
What really gets people's attention? Relevance.
It's not about finding common ground; it's about hitting them with info they care about right now.
Manny's talking about using AI to dig up juicy, relevant news or insights that make your prospect go, "Oh snap, I didn't know that!"
Try this:
Instead of asking AI to find personal tidbits, prompt it to hunt down recent, relevant news in your prospect's industry. Then, use that as your opener.
It's like showing up to a party with the hottest gossip – everyone wants to talk to you.
It shows you’re tuned in to your prospect’s industry, and understand what’s taking up space in their brain.
Instant trust, unlocked.
(Or, feel free to use the ol, ‘I see you’re a {position title} at {company name}! We’ve helped {position title}s like you {grow their business | scale their companies | find more qualified leads} with our innovate bla bla bla.’)
Just kidding. Please don’t do that.
2 – More humans = fewer hallucinations 🔄
Cool. More AI for relevance and ditch the whole ‘personalization’ thing.
Check and check.
Now, just pour AI onto that thang and watch sales stack up while humans applaud our AI overlords?
Nope. You gotta watch out for hallucinations.
Manny said AI sales tech isn’t quite ready for autopilot just yet.
Why?
Because sometimes AI can get a little... creative with the truth.
Nothing kills a sale faster than getting caught spreading fake news and then just pointing at the AI that made it all up.
Try this:
When you're using AI to spice up your sales game, think of it as your enthusiastic but sometimes unreliable intern.
Always fact-check those AI-generated nuggets before you hit send. It's like having a BS detector for your digital buddy.
Manny says this human-AI tag team (Copilot mode) is here to stay, so might as well get good at it!
A good first step is better understanding how LLMs connect to (or don’t connect to) the internet.
Go check out this episode, where we went WAAAY in depth. Your sales quota will thank you.
3 – Make meetings matter more 🤝
Chances are, you’re in Zoom calls alllll day.
Or Teams.
Or Google Meet.
Or whatever.
Sure, you might LLM that transcript if you’re close to a sale. But Manny points out that the real value is in the mundane of the journey between a salesperson and a potential client.
And that’s the legit goldmine for Generative AI — have a LLM crunch all of the insights, nuances and objection handling of the sales process.
Try this:
After your next batch of client calls, feed those transcripts to your AI sidekick.
But don't just ask for a boring summary.
Get nosy!
Ask about recurring themes, hidden opportunities, or potential roadblocks across multiple conversations. It's like turning your meeting transcripts into a crystal ball for your sales strategy.
Manny's all about using AI to uncover those easy-to-miss patterns and opportunities that our overworked human brains might overlook.
So let's put those AI tools to work and start mining your meetings for gold.
We showed you EXACTLY how to use ChatGPT to make your meeting follow-up a breeze.
