1. Baidu's Ernie Bot Hits 100 Million Users 🚀

Baidu's Ernie Bot, a ChatGPT-like AI chatbot, has reached a significant milestone with over 100 million users. Announced at a deep learning summit in Beijing, this achievement follows its public release in August after a selective trial period. Baidu gained a first-mover advantage in China's AI chatbot market. The company's CEO, Robin Li, sees Ernie Bot as a key driver for growth in Baidu's core businesses, including search, cloud, and smart cars.

2. Samsung's AI-Infused Smart Fridge 🥗

Samsung is set to unveil its 2024 Bespoke 4-Door Flex Refrigerator with AI Family Hub+, a smart fridge replete with advanced AI features. This innovative appliance boasts an internal camera that identifies food items and suggests recipes based on what's in stock. Enhanced with a 32-inch touchscreen for mirroring Galaxy phones and apps like TikTok and YouTube, the fridge elevates the kitchen experience.

3. AI Chatbots 'Jailbroken' by Researchers 🚨

Researchers from Nanyang Technological University have successfully 'jailbroken' AI chatbots like ChatGPT, Google Bard, and Microsoft Bing Chat, making them produce content against their developers' guidelines. This 'jailbreaking' involves exploiting system flaws to bypass restrictions set by developers. The team created a large language model (LLM) trained on successful jailbreaking prompts, automating the generation of new prompts to breach other chatbots.

4. Reliance Industries' AI Revolution in India 🇮🇳

Mukesh Ambani, Chairman of Reliance Industries, is steering the conglomerate towards pioneering AI solutions in India, targeting key sectors like healthcare, education, and agriculture. Transforming Reliance into a tech company, Ambani emphasizes AI's role in boosting productivity and efficiency. With a history spanning from traditional energy to digital services, Reliance's recent partnership with Nvidia aims to develop cloud infrastructure and AI applications.

5. K5: AI Robocop Patrolling NYC Subways 🚇

New York City's subway system has a new addition: K5, an AI-powered robocop designed to enhance safety and security. Standing 64.5 inches tall and equipped with advanced features like 4K cameras, thermal imaging, and obstacle avoidance, K5 is part of a pilot program by the NYPD. In today’s show, we laid out some details on the Microsoft Copilot’s rollout, what it entails, and what it means for the future of work.

Here’s what ya need to know, and how you can put it to work for you.

1 – Get your act together 🫡

Yeah, we're pulling no punches here y'all.

You need to get a GenAI game plan like yesterday. Whether you're on Microsoft or Apple/Mac, you know the biz landscape is going to be changing quickly.

Like we talked about in today's show -- Microsoft Copilot will be a generational step forward in how work is done. Don't wait until AFTER November 1 to make a game plan for your company.

Try this:
If you don't already have a Generative AI policy in place, make one. We've covered that in previous shows, so make sure to check those out.

You should be training your entire staff on GenAI basics, how large language models work, data security and privacy, ethics in AI, and AI governance. Don't wait until Q4 to do this, as the biz world will be off to the races and you won't even be at the starting line.

2 – Get your feet wet 💦

Microsoft is starting to roll out Copilot features tomorrow.

If you’re looking for the Copilot 365 features, though, that’ll have to wait until November 1. (And will cost $30/month/user). But as part of a free update to Windows 11, you can expect some next-level features tomorrow, September 26th. We'll see the initial rollout for Copilot, including new AI-powered features in apps like Paint, Photos and video editing in Clipchamp, as well as AI-centric updates to Bing and the Edge browser.

To answer that question — yes. In general, the PPP course teaches you the fundamentals of working with a large language model like ChatGPT. With Copilot’s upcoming release, learning how to prompt a large language model will become more important than using the internet.
