🦾How You Can Leverage:
The secret’s already out — Generative AI is the future of work.
That’s not exactly breaking news.
What WILL be breaking news, though, is once the collective business world fully grasps the power of Generative AI and Large Language Models.
Easier said than done.
Normal world-shaking innovations can take a decade or longer for companies to catch up and fully implement. But with GenAI, it’s an all-out sprint to educate and implement.
Rehgan Bleile helped walk us through it today.
She’s the CEO of AlignAI, and she gave us the 101 on how companies can reframe GenAI from a productivity superpower to a game-changing innovation.
She was dropping more facts than a leaky faucet drops water.
This is one of those episodes that’s worth a rewatch or re-listen.
If you’re looking for the tl;dw takeaways, though, we gotchya.
Let’s get it. 👇
1 – Find your baseline and levers 🎚️️
Start at the bottom.
Rehgan stressed starting with what she calls a "baseline." This means documenting your current metrics and understanding your standard operations before integrating AI.
In other words, you gotta know what matters and be able to measure the movement that happens because of GenAI.
Rehgan used the example of Google Analytics for marketing to illustrate how AI can track multi-touch attribution, showing how different elements contribute to conversions.
Similarly, in AI, knowing and measuring your starting lever allows you to measure the AI's influence accurately.
Try this:
Going from baseline to implementation isn’t easy. This article from TechTarget is a great guide if you’re looking for deeper reading.
2 – Address risk and dependency ⚠️
If everyone knows that AI is a top priority, then why are so few enterprises fully leveraging it?
Rehgan says it comes down to two main things: risk and dependency.
Let’s be honest shorties — for many, Generative AI and Large Language Models are both a black box of mystery and something so game-changing that C-suites are salivating over it.
But, the risks of the unknown and not wanting to be TOO dependent on a black box get companies tripped up before they can get out running.
Try this:
This is easier said than done, but Rehgan laid out some simple and straightforward pieces of advice:
Governance is a must. Know where your AI lives, where your data’s stored, and how it’s protected.
Create a solid risk plan. Get security teams in the loop from day one. Spot and squash risks early.
Dependency on AI is coming, like it or not. Rehgan likened it to our reliance on the electrical grid – invisible until it’s not.
3 – Pinpoint your game-changing differentiator 🎯
Rehgan stressed that for AI to be transformative, it needs to target specific areas where it can provide significant value.
Turning GenAI from productivity powerhouse to game-changer isn’t about generic improvements but about identifying and focusing on game-changing differentiators.
You’ve gotta find that ONE specific thing that separates you from the pack. Then, find how Generative AI can compound that differentiator.
Try this:
That special sauce that sets you apart from your competitors? You’ve gotta lean into it.
As just about everyone is using GenAI to try and set themselves apart, here’s a Harvard Business Review guide on how to use AI to stick out from your competition.
Now This …
