1. OpenAI's AI was compromised in a security breach 🔓

According to a breaking New York Times report, a hacker managed to infiltrate OpenAI's internal messaging systems, where employees discussed the company's latest AI tech.

Luckily, the hacker didn't breach the core systems housing ChatGPT and other AI creations. Despite executives choosing to keep the breach under wraps due to no data theft, concerns about AI misuse lingered.

This one is gonna be a story worth keeping an eye on.

2. Tesla Unveils Optimus: The Future of Humanoid Robots 🦾

Elon Musk's Tesla steals the spotlight at the World Artificial Intelligence Conference in Shanghai with the grand reveal of their second-generation humanoid robot, Optimus. Equipped with Tesla's cutting-edge neural network and computer vision technology, Optimus is hailed as the next big thing in robotics.

While not yet in full-scale production, Musk predicts that Optimus could potentially propel Tesla's market cap to an impressive $25 trillion in the coming years.

Like we do, you should probably take Elon’s takes with a lil grain of salt.

3. Samsung's Profits Skyrocket Thanks to AI and Chip Demand 🚀

Samsung Electronics experiences a jaw-dropping 15-fold rise in second-quarter operating profit, hitting a whopping $754 billion, driven by the surge in semiconductor prices fueled by artificial intelligence demand. Analysts attribute this phenomenal growth to the booming demand for high-end chips like DRAM and HBM, used extensively in AI chipsets and data center servers.

However, the climb in memory chip prices may slow down in the upcoming quarter, hinting at a potential shift in the industry dynamics.

4. ChatGPT macOS App Encrypts Chats After Security Concern 🧑‍💻

OpenAI recently faced a security issue with its ChatGPT macOS app, allowing unauthorized access to chat logs stored in plain text. Data engineer Pedro José Pereira Vieito discovered this flaw by investigating where the app stored data. Following The Verge's inquiry, OpenAI swiftly released an update encrypting conversations for enhanced security.

5. Chinese Tech Titans Shine at World AI Conference in Shanghai 🇨🇳

Chinese tech giants and startups showcased cutting-edge AI innovations at the World AI Conference in Shanghai, with over 150 AI-related products on display. Executives expressed confidence in China's ability to lead the AI sector independently, emphasizing innovation in cloud computing to overcome chip shortages.

5 simple ways we use Generative AI to save time!

We use AI countless times a day.

Whether you’re doing some research, needing to summarize content, or getting tasks done, GenAI has unlimited use cases.

We know today’s livestream was a little on the long side, so here’s the abridged version: 5 simple ways we use GenAI every day.

You know what really grinds our gears?

99% of people trying to “teach” Generative AI just use ChatGPT to create bulk ChatGPT prompts that actually do nothing.

Then, they try and sell you some useless crap. 🤦

So, we packed a ridiculous amount of time-saving, productivity-boosting, practical-AF tips into one single episode

See, we’ve been doing this whole GenAI thing daily for YEEEEEEARS

So today, we’re sharing some of our simplest Generative AI tips to save you more time than you can shake a stick at.

Grab some popcorn.

Or coffee.

Or a Red Bull to give you wings, cuz we’re about to be flying high in GenAI goodness.

Ready to finally use AI?

Lez get it. 👇

1 – Use ChatGPT for bespoke news 📰

You wanna stay ahead, right?

Same.

One common question we get is: how the heck do you keep up with all that’s happening in AI?

The short answer: AI.

And a little URL hack and the right GPT will save you hours a week.

Try this:
Create a Google search that is super specific to your career or company.

As an example, maybe you want top fintech stories of the week, or anything on the Internet from the past hour about the Magnificent 7.

Or, use a little boolean magic to get a hyper-personalized search result for all of your competitors.

Now, grab that URL.

Then, skip to this exact part of today’s show to see how you can turn that bespoke URL, combine it with ChatGPT, and become a legit knowledge wizard in like 5% of the time it would take you to do this manually.

2 – Summarize websites with Voila 📝

Talk about a solid name for an AI tool that works like magic.

We use Voila daily to get fast and customized responses from the web pages our team visits.

Can you do all 5 of these things inside of ChatGPT?

Of course. But sometimes, using GenAI is about using the right tool, at the right time for the right purpose without delay.

That’s why we love Voila. Single click (or keyboard shortcut) and you have the world of GPT4 at your fingertips.

Instant insights.

Customized recaps.

Insanely useful summaries.

Try this:
We already covered Voila months ago on our YouTube channel. (Yeah, our YouTube channel may be super cringe and low quality, but the value is through the roof.)

3 – Castmagic: AI meeting assistant 🪄

Wanna know our dirty little secret?

By the time Jordan is done wrapping up with guests after the livestream, Castmagic is already done applying AI goodness to our entire episode.

(Shoutout Brandon!)

By the name, you might think Castmagic is just for podcasts. But it’s not.

Try this:
You probably are in a lotta meetings, right?

You know what’s the only thing that’s a bigger waste of time than meetings?

The required manual follow-up AFTER the meetings.

Instead, grab a meeting transcript and use a custom prompt inside Castmagic to automate the whole thang for you.

We also showed you how to automate meeting follow-up inside of ChatGPT.

Oh, and go check out our episode with Castmagic’s CEO here.

4 – Edge PDF summaries = 🤯

Another! dirty little secret?

We kinda like Microsoft’s Edge browser. 😅

Our host Jordan has been addicted to Google’s Chrome for a decade-plus, but Edge is kinda the same thing.

Microsoft’s updated browser is built on Chromium, which means all of your Chrome extensions, bookmarks and data can easily transfer over.

And one of the biggest advantages of Microsoft Edge? Built-in Copilot.

Try this:
Edge and Copilot are a great 1-2 punch. We’ve covered a lot of features and hacks inside Copilot recently.

5 – Say bye-bye to AI lies 🤥

(Hot take incoming so duck if you don’t wanna get hit.) 🦆

If you’re not using Perplexity, you’re legit wasting your time.

Talk about winning your time back.

Sheeeeesh.

As a knowledge worker, so many of us keyboard crunchers spend hours a day searching for, reading and processing information, then customizing that information into applicable content and takeaways.

Guess what Perplexity does better than any human?

Searches for, reads and processes information, then customizes that information into applicable content and takeaways.

Try this:
We already gave Perplexity a tear-down and compared it to Google’s similar SGE (Search Generative Experience.)
