AI's Role in Responsible Research 🔍

One of the biggest drawbacks when using AI for writing and research is misinformation or hallucinations.

How can we use AI for research without receiving false information or to get exactly what we need so it doesn't take long? AND do it all responsibly?

Avi Staiman, Founder of SciWriter.ai, joins us to discuss what the future of research will be with AI.

Join the conversation and ask Avi and Jordan any questions about AI and research.

🤷‍♂️ What’s Going On and Why It Matters:

Yeah, ChatGPT lies. Especially if you don’t know how to use it.

Responsible AI is a HUGE problem, especially when it comes to research writing.

But, it’s not JUST a ChatGPT problem. In general, Large Language Models can have a problem with accuracy.

Why does it matter?

Well, today’s episode showed us EXACTLY why. We chatted with Avi Staiman, the founder of Sciwriter.ai.

He cut it straight with our audience and let us in on a huge problem in academic research. Right now, researchers can either spend months getting their research approved, or gamble with AI tools.

So, it’s either painfully slow to get your research paper written or approved, or potentially a gamble by using AI tools not necessarily made for scientific research papers.

So, what’s it all mean?

Let’s get sciencey with it and break it down👇

🦾How You Can Leverage:

We got deeeeeep with Avi on responsible AI, as he unveiled some of the problems plaguing the scientific research community.

But, responsible AI (and usable outputs!) are a problem most of us face, whether we’re researchers or not.

So, let’s dive into a 1-2-3 action plan for more accurate and responsible use of AI!

1 – Get to know LLMs 📖

Like Avi mentioned, large language models are exactly that: language models. They’re not scientifically fact checked sources of fallacy-free info. Before you get into the depths of scientific papers and AI-backed tools, it’s important to shift your mindset.

Try this: We’ve tackled this issue many times. Before we get our lab coats on, dive into:

2 – Check out the ScholarAI Plugin 💡

Avi’s not one of those people who only promotes his own software. If you’re a big ChatGPT user like us, he recommended the ScholarAI ChatGPT plugin for more accurate AI content.

Try this: Try the ScholarAI plugin, and then see our guide for ChatGPT plugins for business use-cases and reduce the amount that ChatGPT hallucinates.

3 – Follow Avi’s recommendations 🗣️Y

There’s soooo much AI info. Where to start? (Aside from with us and these 85+ episodes)

Follow along with Avi, and the great free resources he’s put together. Sciwriter is in beta now, but you can join the waitlist. If you’re itching to up your AI-powered research game NOW, Avi puts together a free training on different AI tools that can be used for research.
