🤷‍♂️ What’s Going On and Why It Matters:

Here's the bad news: AI is straight-up wrecking the education system here in the U.S.

Normally we take a middle-of-the-road approach here at Everyday AI.

Not today, shorties.

Tackling the whole AI in schools debate is too important to be politically correct.

So, here's the no-filter, unapologetic truth:

Students? They're not just using ChatGPT for their essays; they're straight-up leaning on it. And it ain't just the college elite; high schoolers are deep in the game too.

Those fancy AI detectors schools are blowing their budgets on? Trash. They couldn't detect a lie if it slapped them in the face.

Professors thinking they've got the upper hand by asking Chat GPT to play detection detective? Dream on.

Schools not integrating generative AI into their curriculum? They're not just behind; they're digging their own grave.

Missed the episode and feeling a bit lost? Don't sweat it. Dive back in and get the raw, unfiltered breakdown.

But if you're thinking of skipping this one? Think again.

Now, let's get into how you can leverage this knowledge and not get left in the dust.

🦾How You Can Leverage:

Sheeeesh! The whole university-student struggle on AI is a legit mess.

If you thought AI was just about asking Siri where the nearest pizza joint is, think again.

Like we talked about, schools in the US are dropping the ball on how to handle AI. Big time. And they’re putting our students at risk of failing in the fast-changing job market. Employers want GenAI and prompting skills, yet schools are banning ChatGPT faster than Usain Bolt in the 100m. Like… why?

We're diving deep into the murky waters of education, and y'all, it's a mess. Let's get to work with our 3-step action plan to unmuddy the waters. 👇

1 – Address the University Lag 🕳️

The reality?

Students are outpacing universities in the AI race. While students are actively using tools like ChatGPT to aid their studies (ie: write the papers and not tell their parents or teachers), universities are FAR behind in integrating GenAI tools into the curriculum. It's a mismatch, and it's leaving students lacking in their current education.

Try this: Universities: you're setting students up for failure by moving at a snail's pace with GenAI integration. Get it together and start integrating AI education into your entire curriculum now. Don't wait for next semester, because your students are getting left behind. Work on getting entire GenAI General Education courses set up, teach about the basics of ChatGPT, and in the meantime bring in experts for one-off workshops and student trainings. They'll thank you for it.

2 – Equip for the Job Market 🌍

Graduating is one thing, but being job-ready in an AI-driven market is another.

Universities need to step up their game. Right now, they’ve got a fat D-. The job market is evolving, and AI tools like ChatGPT are becoming essential. If you're unsure about ChatGPT's role, our episode on everything you might be getting wrong about it is a must-listen.

Try this: Students: Don't wait for your university to catch up. Dive into the AI world headfirst and gobble it up like a bowl of Cinnamon Toast Crunch for dinner. Network with AI professionals, understand the industry demands, and get ahead of the curve.

Educators (and parents!): Stop the outdated lectures and collaborate with tech companies for internships and real-world projects. Your students need real-world experience, not just theory. (And parents, demand that your kid’s university is teaching GenAI. Otherwise, that job hunt will be harder than it needs to be in a few years!) And get moving. And Check #3!

3 – Get Jordan in the Lecture Hall 🎤

The job market's hungry for AI expertise.

And guess what? We’re serving up knowledge. Our host Jordan has been a featured speaker for 10+ years, training everyone from business execs and NBA players on leadership and development, to tens of thousands of people on Generative AI strategies.

Don’t take it from us, here’s what Gerald Haman said after booking Jordan to talk GenAI for one of the largest AI Summits:

We’re gonna give five guest lectures on Generative AI to the first 5 universities that reach out, and we’ll drop our GenAI wisdom. No charge.

Try this: Universities, slide into my DMs on LinkedIn. (Or, if you’re a parent, make sure your kid’s teacher does!) Or, just reply to this email and say “Lecture”. First 5 are getting it for free.

Now This …

Wait. You read this whole thing and didn’t reply with the word Lecture yet? Better get on it.
