Well, that’s kinda how the “Browse with Bing” mode in ChatGPT felt. It was so fresh, shiny and USEFUL. It was like…. WHAT IS THIS AMAZING THINGY THAT MAKES MY LIFE COMPLETE?!?
Then, OpenAI had to give it the ‘goodbye, farewell’ treatment when some lawsuits alleged the Browse with Bing mode was bypassing paywalls.

Here’s the skinny — when you use ChatGPT, you need to be connected to the internet. Otherwise, you’ll get a buncha old information, and probably some straight-up lies.
Let's fix this, and take it one step at a time. 🚶♂️
1 – Stop listening to ‘Gurus’ 🧞
We’ve probably been too nice in our first 100 episodes. Gloves may start to come off.
Here’s the thing, and we talked about this in today’s show, most people teaching GPT online are trying to sell you something. (Our Prime, Prompt, Polish courses are always free for individuals!) And most times, the self-appointed gurus are so wrong it’s almost painful.
Try this:
Don’t trust any Joe Schmoe with a Twitter account to get your AI advice from. Of coooooourse, we’re biased that we’re probably the premier source of unbiased, spot-on ChatGPT advice. But don’t take our word for it.

2 – Know the ins and outs of LLMs 🧠
Marketing is a funny thang, aint it?
If you look at Large Language Models like Bard and Bing Chat, you’d be convinced that they’re internet connected. Are they? Kinda. But kinda not.

3 – Always use GPT-4 with Plugins 🔌
Simple as that.
See #1 above? If you wanna know whether someone is legit or not, ask them about the most important elements of an Internet-connected plugin within ChatGPT, or ask which internet-connected plugins you should use, and which ones you should avoid.
(Spoiler alert — they’ll have no clue. Because in all of their screenshots they share, they’re using the Default model. Rookie mistake, Guru!)
