1. Salesforce Officially Unleashes AI Agents 👥
After the reports gave us a preview, Salesforce has officially introduced Agentforce, a groundbreaking suite of generative AI bots designed to manage tasks across sales, marketing, and customer service without direct human oversight.
Priced starting at $2 per conversation, these bots aim to enhance productivity while also presenting new challenges and risks.
Central to this initiative is the Atlas reasoning engine, which enables the agents to simulate human thinking and planning by accurately retrieving and analyzing relevant data.
2. Oprah's AI Special: A Cautionary Conversation with Tech Leaders 📺
In her recent special titled “AI Future Us,” Oprah Winfrey engaged with influential figures such as Sam Altman and Bill Gates to explore the intricate challenges posed by artificial intelligence. The tone of the discussion was predominantly skeptical, with Altman asserting that current AI systems can learn concepts, while experts argued that they primarily generate predictions based on established data patterns.
FBI Director Christopher Wray also raised alarms about the growing prevalence of AI-generated deepfakes and cybercrime, highlighting the significant risks these technologies pose to society.
3. Meta's AI Label Changes Spark Concerns Over Transparency 🤨
Meta is implementing a new “AI info” label that will be less visible, potentially misleading users about the extent of AI involvement in content creation. Previously, this label appeared next to the user's name, but now it will be found in the post's menu, raising eyebrows about user awareness.
The company asserts that this change aims to better represent how AI is used in posts, but critics worry it may lead to confusion as editing tools become increasingly sophisticated.
4. Tech Giants Unite to Combat Deepfake Concerns 🤝
In a significant move, leading companies like Adobe, Microsoft, and OpenAI have pledged to eliminate explicit images from their AI training datasets to combat the rise of harmful deepfakes.
This initiative, brokered by the Biden administration, aims to protect vulnerable groups—especially women and children—from the increasing prevalence of non-consensual explicit imagery. With Common Crawl also committing to responsible data sourcing, this coalition is taking steps to enhance online safety.
5. Adobe's AI Ambitions Stumble as Shares Plummet 📉
Adobe’s shares have dropped around 8% after a weaker-than-expected fiscal fourth-quarter outlook. Despite integrating AI features like Firefly into popular software such as Photoshop and Illustrator, investors are left wanting more evidence of profitability, as guidance fell short of Wall Street expectations.
The anticipated digital media revenue of $550 million was below the $561.1 million analysts had projected, raising concerns about Adobe's ability to compete in the AI space.
OpenAI o1 - An in-depth dive into OpenAI’s new reasoning model
Instead of giving you a quick hit for today’s AI in 5, we had to do a whole dang bonus episode.
We already had an amazing guest lined up for today’s show, but we just HAD to give you the low-down on the breaking news of OpenAI’s new model, o1.
Spoiler alert — there’s no other LLM in this category.

🦾How You Can Leverage:
You think AI’s going to have a big impact?
(Uh…duh?)
But no. Think BIGGER.
As in… AI is legit going to redefine how we all work.
That’s the takeaway from Pete Erickson, an industry leader in the mobile development space and leading voice in AI.
His experience ranges from programming the first Costco pricing system and building MoDev into a mobile development powerhouse to organizing the AI house at CES, the world’s most prominent tech conference.
In other words — another can’t-miss interview from an expert sharing insights on everything you need to know about AI.
Pete kept it real with us on Everyday AI today, talking big picture and small steps when it comes to workplace transformation in the age of AI.
So how can we all prepare for the workplace impact of AI?
Pete prepped us.
Let’s break it down shorties.
Step by step.
1 – Season of Opportunity: Follow Big Tech 📲
What better time to experiment when even the Trillion dollar tech titans are tinkering?
No brainer, right?
Big Tech is still figuring out AI, which means there's room for everyone to experiment and innovate.
This isn't just about keeping up; it's about potentially leapfrogging your competitors.
Tech innovation of the past few decades has actually been snail paced.
Long scopes.
Calculated moves.
Bureaucratic processes.
Red tape.
Sloooooow.
Not in 2024.
It’s Opportunity Season shorties.
Squeeze the juice while the fruit is low-hanging.
Try this:
Pick an AI tool you've been curious about but haven't tried.
Maybe it's Copilot for coding or Midjourney for design.
Spend a week integrating it into your workflow.
Keep a log of what works, what doesn't, and how it changes your approach. This isn't just about the tool – it's about developing an experimentation mindset that'll serve you as AI keeps evolving.
Who knows?
You might just stumble upon a use case that puts you ahead of the curve.
2 – Amplify Your Productivity, Don't Just Automate 📣
Pete's not buying the AI job apocalypse hype.
It's not about replacement – it's about enhancement.
Think of it this way: AI isn't here to do your job. It's here to make you ridiculously good at it.
(If you so chose, of course.)
Pete shares a personal example: he used Perplexity AI to quickly become an expert on the neurotech industry for a new conference.
This wasn't about automating research. It was about amplifying his ability to dive into new territories at warp speed.
Try this:
Got a task you've been avoiding because it's not your forte?
Time to tackle it with AI backup.
Use a tool like Perplexity or ChatGPT to dive in.
Track how it changes not just what you can do, but how you approach problems.
Don’t worry, we legit already wrote that lesson plan for ya here.
3 – Balance Innovation with Security in AI Adoption ⚖️
Pete's not all starry-eyed about AI.
He knows the risks, especially for big orgs.
His insight?
Companies that rock at DevOps are primed for AI success.
Why?
They've already cracked the code on rapid, secure development.
This isn't just tech talk. It's about innovating fast without leaving the door open for disasters.
Try this:
Next team meeting, throw this curveball:
"What AI tools are we all secretly using, and should we be worried?"
Trust us…. If your team is honest, you’ll find out most of them have been using GenAI tools this whole dang time.
(Even if doing so half-blind folded and haphazardly.)
Get a rundown of the AI experiments happening under the radar.
Then, put on your security hat.
For each tool, brainstorm potential risks. Data leaks? Bias? Skynet?
(Kidding on that last one. Maybe.)
The goal isn't to shut down innovation, but to innovate smartly with data security front of mind.
You might just spark the conversation that leads to your company's AI breakthrough – safely and in the open instead of under the table.
Here’s a simple yet actionable guide from AdvoLogix on 9 ways to use AI in the workplace that might spark your creativity.
