We’re checking out Color Fuse AI, an AI color assistant design tool.

Does it help to speed up the brand building process? Let’s find out!

🤷‍♂️ What’s Going On and Why It Matters:

ChatGPT is a game-changer.

Google Bard holds so much promise.

Microsoft Copilot will likely change how we all work.

But how did Canva get lost in the Generative AI shuffle? (For real, though?)

For whatever reason, we probably view Canva as JUST a design platform. But the behemoth creativity platform that boasts more than 135 million users is turning itself into something more than that.

Last week, Canva unveiled its updated AI-powered platform, Canva Magic Studio. And that got the Everyday AI team scratching our collective heads.

Like… wait, is Canva the most complete Generative AI tool?

We wanted your take, and we took Canva’s new AI features for a live test drive to see how it stacked up as an all-in-one AI suite.

And it looks like Canva is positioning itself to be a major contender in the GenAI race.

The basics of Canva are still there. The everything-design platform still has thousands of industry-leading templates for graphic design, presentations, videos and more.

But now it’s upping the ante with 10 new/upgraded AI features to put itself in the GenAI race.

So let’s talk about what’s new inside Magic Studio, how you can use the new AI features, and how Canva can become a more common name when talking GenAI.

Let’s break it down shorties 👇

🦾How You Can Leverage:

So you’re finally ready to give Canva’s AI a spin?

Us too.

Even as often as our team uses Canva, we haven’t fully tapped into its AI capabilities. So whether you’re an entrepreneur or small business owner trying to do a bit of everything, or part of a large enterprise team working on highly visible marketing campaigns, there’s a lot to see inside Canva’s new Magic Suite.

Why care about Canva?

Even if you’re not a designer, Canva can become your best business friend. Need a presentation to pitch your Q4 budget? Canva can help.

Have a heap of data to send to the team, but want a more visual way to get your point across? Canva can help.

And with its new Magic Studio, it can be as easy as a quick text prompt and hitting enter.

(Maybe that’s why it’s called Magic?)

Let’s break it down, and get started on see just how magical Canva’s suite can be.

1 – Get your magic foundation 🪄

Technically, today’s episode was kinda a part 2. Right before Canva unveiled its magic suite last Wednesday, we did a high-level overview of Canva’s existing feature set on Tuesday. We wanted you to be prepared for all the new features by doing a basic overview.

Try this:
If you need a little refresher course, make sure to check out our first Canva overview. We did a 101 of Canva’s existing AI features and talked a bit about how it compares to Photoshop.

Also, if you wanna tap into these new Magic Studio features, many of them require a premium account, which is $14.99 a month, or you can get it a bit cheaper if you spring for the $119.99 annual plan.

2 – Unlock your creativity 🔓

Let’s be real — we’re not all naturally creative. And that’s OK. But real talk — Canva is one of those intuitive platforms that makes it easy to unlock your inner creative. And with some of the new Magic Features we talked about, new levels of creativity are just a few clicks or text prompts away.

Try this:
Take it step by step. We recommend starting with the Magic Design feature, like we did live on today's show, to create an entire presentation (slides, text and images).

Then, use the Magic Media feature to add some AI-generated images into the fold.

Last, click on any photo and click the ‘Edit photo’ command in the top bar. From there, you can try a host of Canva's most exciting AI features. Our favorites are the Magic Eraser, Magic Edit and Magic Grab.

3 – Think about AI consolidation 🤏

Don’t get us wrong — we’re BIG ChatGPT fans. But while it seems like the big players in the large language model space — OpenAI, Google, Microsoft, Anthropic, Meta, etc. — are all working on multimodal functionality, Canva is already kinda there.

Is their Magic Write better than ChatGPT? No. Is it AI image generator better than Midjourney? No. But, there’s no doubt that Canva right now is the most complete, all-in-one suite for Generative AI offerings across text, design, image and video.

Try this:
If you’re currently like us and working in countless Generative AI softwares, try fitting your current workflow into Canva’s Magic Studio.

Chances are, you can accomplish the majority of your Generative AI projects into one platform, instead of many. We’re not saying to abandon your current workflow, or ditch other LLMs. But, give Magic Studio a spin to see if you can save yourself some time, while also tapping into some of Canva’s new AI editing features.

Now This …

What do you think? Will you be switching to Canva Magic Studio?
